A blend of 5 different vineyards.. Darker color than the regular willamette valley, also more dense smell: tannin acidity and fruit well mixed. Still young but shows good breeding. On palate lacking a bit of freshness.. Overall good wine but has not come together yet. Will it live long enough to deliver on its promise?

medium ruby, floral nose, lilacs. Dry, bright red berry, tart full soft tannins. Just an undertone of bitter almond, forward acids keep the fruit fresh, full body for an older PN, not overly floral which is to my liking, full, round mouth feel with a soft finish. PNP, 89 pts. Obviously this bottle started out better than where the last one left off, and has improved over the hour, losing the little bitter. Now with well rounded acid, fruit and …

Sweeter nose than the regular willamette Valley; quite well rounded On palate mor sub stance. No real smasher at the end but pleasant enough. A good - bit pricey - Pinot Noir

Medium ruby, barnyard nose. Dry, funky pie cherry on PnP, a little heat on the roof of the mouth. Tart stemmy tannins, medium body and light fruit, a little bitter tannins on the finish. 86 pts to start, looking for improvement with some open time. Improving in the glass, smooth, silky mouthfeel, integrating nicely.

Aging quite well. Notes of rhubarb, dried strawberry, mushroom, and black tea. The only thing this wine lacks is a little delicacy and aroma.

Clear dark ruby core of moderate intensity out to a wide garnet edge and moderate watery rim - youthful still. Clean nose of spice, sandalwood, smoke, vanilla, black cherry with some alcohol notes - moderate intensity. Very soft and plush on the palate with mouth filling concentrated flavours of black cherry, vanilla, nutmeg, sage with the oak well integrated. Very well balanced with moderate acidity/tannin/body and slightly elevated alcohol - not off putting though. This is a seamless sipper - …

I was pleasantly surprised! I've come to expect not too much from Rex Hill, but this was very good. Quite a testament to the very good year of 2003 in the Willamette. Lots of earth on the nose with not so much red fruit. A nice taste with some complexity and an enjoyable finish. This was gone pretty quickly.

Has aged well. dark in color. Nose had medium hints of fruit. Cherries and dark berries. Not a fruit bomb. A good contrast from the typical Santa Rita Pinot that many of us drink in California. This shows the potential of Oregons ability to create Burgundian style wines.
