Glengoyne Glengoyne 17 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 40%, United Kingdom, Scotland, Highlands, Western Highlands

The nose seemed quite tough out of bottle, so some ice went into the glass poured. Pretty amazed at how the flavors unfold in the mouth and last for quite a bit unfurling many tasty notes. Not too shabby, suprisingly impressed.

Standard expression single malts (My place, Kent Street) : Candle wax, honey, slightly woody notes; cedar, slight citrus and cream. In the mouth it has that 'milk bottle' sweets flavour, waxy textured. Bit warm. With time there are some tropical fruit notes on the nose and palate.

5cl sample. With Darryl. This whisky offered sherry, apple, a hint of orange peel and nuts on the nose, and toffee, baked apple, nuts, a touch of liquorice and some sherry on the palate, with warming alcohol and a slightly chewy finish. Medium-bodied and a little creamy, with moderate complexity and length, but reasonably balanced. Body 3/10, Smoke 1/10, Sweetness 4.5/10.

Elegant and floral Delicate honey notes Easily approachable, consistent and a great dram to go back to time and again

Sweet smoky nose of strong caramel fudge at first, scent of honey and butter, then change to toffee nut. Sweet grassy entry, clean, warm sweet finish of nutty liqueur.

Honeyed, vanilla and spice with a nutty sherried note. Malty flavours with a nice fruit note; long finish. July 2005
