Beautiful mature Italian red, with a leathery perfumy nose. The palate is intense red cherries, mellowed out by oak, leather, mineral, the faint hints of cottony tannins around the incisors, and well balanced acidity.

Better than the 2005 of the same wine that I had a week ago. Nose with leather, red earth, iron, green herbs and red cherries. Some spicy wood smoke and game showing too as it opens up. Palate with sweet sun ripe red cherries, blood/iron, leaf's, tobacco. Good length, a bit on the simple side, but enjoyable.

Decanted 90 min and followed for another 90 min. Needs time, air, and substantial food. Try with beef stew or lamb. Impressive nose, very ripe, but too young. 89-90 Drink 2017-2020.

In a tasting of multiple wines from Tuscany, this was one that everyone seemed to enjoy. Medium dark ruby color. Red cherry and red fruits are full and rich but not jammy. Nice spice notes with moderate tannins. It is drinking well now but has several years to evolve. I would seek this wine out but I can no longer obtain it in Texas.

One of my favorite Sangiovese wines. Rich sweet raspberry, almost jammy, but earthy notes of mushroom and fennel. Silky tannnins. Young. I might wait a year or two before opening my next bottle.
