Still alive, and may have some time left (but drink it now!)

On the downslope now, but retains excellent finesse. Fruit is largely gone, leaving floral notes, smoke and mushrooms.

Dense and tannic but not overextracted, this wine has the potential for a long life ahead. There's load of dark cherry with earth and spice on the nose. There is a hint of barnyard on the finish, but I don't find it offensive. The finish on this wine is long and worth savoring.

thin, diluted, astringent, sour fruit. not sure what's going on here. either an off bottle or in serious decline.

A little "long in tooth". This wine's best day's are behind it. Sour cherry, sage, thin finish.

Burgundy and pinot noir (Wink Wine Bar) : In the eighties and early nineties Ken Wright made the Panther Creek wines and they were excellent, especially for their price range of $12-18, though by 1995 he was off and running at his own cellar. We thought this wine to be drinking at its optimum now, and was quite lovely. Had a fruit and barnyard nose, had good structure, and good acidity. It was spicy and herbaceous, with clove, nutmeg, rosemary, …

A very solid effort. Good color and extraction. Supple texture with fine tannins, and medium body. Drink now.

This has aged prematurely. Cork was intact and color looks fine with a pure ruby red. However, the fruit has disapated and the finish as an acidic edge. On the cusp of undrinkable. Very disappointing in the conext of the vintage and that it should be in its prime at ten years of age.

clear at rim, hint of brown, then pale red to the center. Well integrated, subtle nose of cherries, clay, and some king of mint. So well integrated, its hard to separate components. Mid weight palate, tannins fully resolbed, with a bit of acid holding things together. Nice, but I was hoping for more complexity, given year, site, and producer.

Cherry, cedar, cherry liqueur, and rhubarb. A surprisingly hot nose of ETOH almost hides the bouquet of recently planted garden. Finishes dry and austere. I think this wine's best days are behind it. Nice floral note eventually emerge from the empty glass.

Something off aboutt his bottle - kind of harsh and funky flavors/aromas. Cooked in transit?

Opened alongside the 1999 version, this was the preferred vintage tongiht. Nice red cherry , mint, and a bit of earth aromas, and fully resolved tannins on the palate, with medium to fullish palate weight, smooth mid-palate, pleasant cherry and some aged pinot flavors. Very nice, and paired well with totierrie capon.

This was an interesting expression of Oregon Pinot Noir. I would have loved to taste it when it was much younger, because I think it would have been a monster. This was still showing very strong, even though much of the fruit was gone.

Dark burgundy, no sign of age.Thick forest and thyme. Medium to full bodied, strong acid and spice, long finish. Big, strong with acid and stemmy forest, missing fruit to balance it out.

Not ready to drinPatty Green Etzel Blockk right now, but we needed to try it anyway. Was had along with a couple of Stevenson-Berrie's, A Kenwood Zin, a blend and a 2003 Patty Green Etzel Block at a summer BBQ with 6 friends.

Why on earth is this only $25 and available at Whole Foods in SC? Excellent stuff, and could go several more years. Classic Oregon pinot nose and palate.

Nice. At peak, IMO. Spicy Cherry and Cranberry. Paired will with pork t-loin with a wine reduction and Risotto. Plenty of acids to cut through.

The nose has high-toned strawberry/raspberry notes that contrast with ever-so-slightly stewed dark fruit and roasted flavors. There are also some appealing earthy elements. On the palate, the fruit flavors unite a bit more and there is nice lift in the mouth from tangy acids. The finish is relatively short and the tannins are a bit too dry, or more accurately, they don't have enough fruit to carry. This wine never quite came together even over the course of three hours. …

While drinking very, very well right now, this clearly could have gone for a few more years, as it overall was still very primary in a lot of ways. Dark ruby color, a nose of red fruit and earthy notes, more dense fruit on the palate with some oak, firm tannins, and an earth/mineral element. The finish is where it showed best, long and layered, maybe the tannins carried everything along or something, but whatever it was, every taste lingered …

Tasting. Lots of dark black fruit aromas. Similar fruit on palate, but a bit harsh, tannic and inaccessible for right now. Showed more pleasure after open 90 minutes.
