Found another bottle on sale online and I grabbed it. Still a beauty. So fragrant, perfumed, delicate, fine. Though it still has some tannins that will carry it for a few more years yet, treating this delicately in terms of air and food pairing will yield the most reward.

Really shines with a little air.

From magnum. Medium ruby in color. Nose is red fruited, some raw cedar, raspberry, forest floor and floral notes. Medium bodied, packed with flavor and a bit spicy. Tannins are still chewy. Acid is medium plus. Finish is dry and longer than average. This can age longer in this format. Enjoyable but it can use a few years in the cellar to polish some edges.

Early in its window, with engaging aromatics, minty and floral. Enough fruit to thoroughly charm up front, with cool mentholated notes, but there’s still lots of gritty tannin on the back end that needs to resolve for my liking. Revisit in 5 years. 92+ pts… Day 2, even better, great intensity, penetrating grip and flavor, more flashy than nuanced, but hard to resist as is.

PnP, stunning. Heavily perfumed nose, well-balanced med>med+ body, with sweet, round tannins, avg++ complexity, and a long, elegant finish. This is in such a sweet spot just now that if you have several, it's really an ideal time to open one. If this bottle was representative, this has another decade of superb drinking yet ahead. Such a joy. RIP Renato. highly recommended https://www.ItalianWine.blog

Cantina del Pino Barbaresco Ovello 2004. Blir bare bedre og bedre med tid i glasset. Tørkede blomster, krydder og Swix sitrusrens. Det utgjør en fin parfyme. Smooth i anslaget. Moden deilig frukt med en nedslipt struktur. Deilig å drikke nå, men heller ikke noe problem å lagre videre. Presis lang finish med delvis oppløste tanniner. Fine med litt trøkk i seg fortsatt. Skikkelig digg vin. 92p+

Drinking nicely per "spendergast" note 12/7/22. My bottle showed notable tannin, though the wine is perfectly balanced. Recommend 2-4 hour decant. Very nice with beef bolognese.

Decanted 90 minutes and paired with venison osso buco. Sadly, my last bottle. Dark ripe fruit, cassis, herbal notes, with well integrated tannins and long finish. Still drinking very well.

I popped this open on a bit of a whim to enjoy with dinner (chestnut and wild mushroom pasta with Pecorino- a wonderful pairing). I wrote a tasting note (to follow below), but then looked up the wine just to find out more information and was saddened to learn that the winemaker Renato Vacca passed away last year. I actually met him once here in Connecticut! Somehow, my local shop arranged for him to host an in store tasting and …

Seemed boring and lacked some excitement. Showing some development but still fresh fruit.

Wonderful bold wine, decanted 2 hours. It has softened in the mouth, full but velvety experience, this was great

Wow, what a gorgeous nose! Somehow it captures one of the best aspects of a freshly-released Barbaresco or Barolo after a good vintage - violets and rose petals galore! Normally I only get this fresh upon release (and particularly of the 2004 vintage, where it was overwhelming). Such a gorgeous nose - red fruits over the perfectly perfumed florals. The palate is still mostly acidic, strongly so, so the structure is still there. It's got a bit of weight to …

Amazing HUGE bouquet. Flavorful and long finish. Tannins prominent right after opening. Mellowed in 30 minutes.

Decanted off of medium sediment. Medium deep red with heavy bricking. Explosive aromas of sappy dark fruits overlaid with intensely mentholated bruised rosemary and a beautiful suggestion of roses. Wow! Big and forceful palate comes on strong with camphor, fresh herbs, powerful dark fruits and an earthy inflection. Exceptional balance and length. This is a great Barbaresco that is in peak form where it will hold through 2020 - in a perfect place right now. Bravo!

Beautiful nose upon opening. Flavors not far behind but the sweet rose petal are eventually replaced with a bit of a tannic and acidic bite. For the first half hour, though, a real beauty. I suggest serving to a group so everyone gets the first stages in the glass. Sure to please.

Beautiful, heady aromas of damp earth, plum, and rose petals. Exotic and heady on the palate, a really nice Barbaresco. Consensus score was 92.

Dried red/dark fruits, spices, earthy/mushroom element, long finish. Still in its peak but window is closing, no need to wait. Can't imagine this can last until 2022.

Like a fighter approaching the end of their career but still with a good knockout punch, this wine is on the way down but still gives a lot of pleasure. Garnet with brown tinges, some watery bricking at the edges, pretty nose of ripe fruit, plum/prune and a touch of musk. Flavors are soft and fruity with some nice fruit left but the whole package says Drink Me Now.

Still a bit tight and young. Nice; full and complete but too tannic for this old teletubby's taste, maybe it was the food. Greenblanket is receiving mixed signals from his ambient cellar. Two reds this weekend are tighter than expected but two recent whites (a middle aged vouvray and an older auslese looked like disturbing urine samples when poured.

Pleasant, medium bodied with cooler flavor profile that many barbarescos. More elegant than flavorful. A slight bit lacking in flavor for my taste.

Still youthful. Spices and some tar on a nice nose, dark cherry fruit with more spice on a savory palate. Good depth, excellent balance. Tannins still a bit drying, good acidity, has a lot of time left and could have a big upside with more age.

Light and elegant flavors but the fruit is quite dark. Overall, the wine is nice and enjoyable but it does seem to lack some edges or something to make it more interesting.

Robert Parker Grand World Tour, Piedmont Masterclass (Singapore) : Medium garnet. Nose of licorice, strawberry, tar and rosemary, quite clean and precise. On the palate very grippy, loads of tannins not drying but conspicuously masculine, take no prisoner style. Make sure you eat with this wine and make sure your dish is of the fatty/oily kind. Other than that, solid complexity and length
