Domaine Gris des Bauries Côtes du Rhône Villages Duo des Achaux

wow. totally surprised by this. i had really low expectations, as i love the stories and the histories behind the wines of the Ancient Wine Guys, but don't always love the tastes...so i was on guard. i shouldn't have been. this was really nice with some smoked/bbq salmon (not cold smoked salmon). it opened up after about a 1/2 hour...some raspberry on the nose. medium tannins... light fruit flavors, not at all overpowering...subtle. really nice finish...also: longer than expected.
