Stambolovo Winery Merlot Reserve

Another surprise. Found this bottle in the cellar and was expecting to be pouring it down the drain, but it did not happen. Mature colour with pale garnet; translucent. Dark red fruit with milk chocolate notes on the nose. Palate was little austere at first with acidity dominating but the wine put on weight fairly quickly, within ½ hour, and drank well. Moderate finish and well balanced.
