Houghton Chenin Blanc EV/37 Old Vine

The waxy texture is a pleasure but the waxy paraffin flavour seemed a bit dominant at first or other flavours muted. Opened up to show some ginger, lemon and orchard fruits. Not as impressive a showing as last week, more of a great QPR pick that outright great.

Pow! That is a big punch of flavour. Ginger, cut grass, lemon, lanolin, bee's wax, vanilla, cashew; there's so much going on here. Bright acid, oily/waxiness in the texture. I really like it but I'm a bit overwhelmed trying to understand it. My only criticism - and this may be solved with time - is it's a bit aggressive in the mouth.
