Second of two cabs served with grilled ribeyes - first was a 2012 Lewis Reserve. Both were very good, group slightly preferred the AO. Opened and decanted about 2.5 hours before serving. Wine needed the time to loosen up. Once it settled down, oh boy, what a treat- complex interplay of dark fruit, smoked herbs, tobacco- no aspect overwhelming any other, wrapped in an extended smooth finish.

Drinking beautifully now after a 90 minute decant. Very elegant wine, lots of structure. BlackBerry, cocoa and long smooth finish.

This is holding together really well. Still benefits from a decant. Beautiful, deep, complicated, and smooth!

This wine is over-rated. I dont' understand the ratings. I just opened my third bottle of this, and it's just okay. I think the others are right who had recently reviewed: it's past its prime.

This wine is drinking beautifully, but still has time. Decanted for an hour. Smooth and refined, with tons of dark fruit. deep purple in the glass. Long finish. Tasted after three hours and it didn't fade. Cork in good shape.

PnP with big, rich dark fruit notes up front. Became more complex as it opened up, good balance, structure & med-long finish. Drinking very well & wish I had more.

Beautifully polished Napa cab. Silky smooth mainly black fruit, velvet tannins, medium to full bodied. Good freshness. This is a classy wine, even if it doesn't excite (I'm being fussy). There are tertiary leather notes and well integrated oak. Very nice. Medium length, some complexity. Drinking now though still young, will improve over the next 5 to 10 years and then last for a decade or more thereafter.

carafed for 3 hours. first glass was a bit subdued but it opened nicely. So add an extra hour in the carafe. Drinks perfectly, not sure it will improve much more with time.

Solid showing but lacking on the palate and finish. I did an hour decant. Wait 3+years before opening again.

May need a longer than 45 minute decanting. Still rich, blackberry and chocolate with a touch of heat Pleasing finish and likely better with time.

This wine is going to be really good in five years or so. Showing an abundance of roasted red fruit, violets, lilac, and boysenberries right up front. Smoky character to the middle. This bottle was served pop and poor, and really was not decanted like it should have been. If you have to drink this one now, I definitely recommend bottle decanting for several hours or so. I think I was missing a lot of the finish of this wine …

Deep, dark and rich, but not overdone. Perfectly ripened blackberries, violets and mild oak. Polished tannins and perfect level of acidity. Fully integrated, complex and elegant.

I thought this was richer, more fruit forward when it was first released. PNP and drunk over one hour without much change. Medium body, plush, sweet valley floor fruit, earth, spice. Will wait another year for the next. Surprised to still find a bit of alcohol on the finish, which seems to be common with these 2013 Napa cabs

Dark ruby ripe fruit with notes of berries, dark cherries, vanilla and oak. Subtle silky tannins with a medium to long finish. Taste like the vineyard it came from George III. Strong 94.

Plush, smooth ripe fruit expression. Oak has subdued the tannins and mild acidity adds some depth to a very balanced wine. Excellent wine that's in its prime.

Two hour decant. Deep dark magenta color. Blueberry, sautéed cherry, powdered sugar, cinnamon, ginger and slate on the fragrant nose. Velvety, full bodied, warm spiced palate, with tongue drying acidity. Supple tannins on the long finish. As good as this was, I think it’s in a transitional phase and was likely better a year ago and will be better in another year.

Tasted first at the winery in 2011 on my (now) wife and I's first trip to Napa. It was noted as having intense fruit, with some heat. Time has done this bottle some good. It still has the napa sweetness, but the heat/density has mellowed out a little. Loved this with a steak.

Not a 98 point wine to me. Wine is a bit tannic still, but the decanting does help. We decanted after initial nose of cassis and taste, and waited a couple of hours. Opened up to medium floral notes and and light smoked cedar.

Opened it at 9am, taken to a friend’s home for a wine afternoon, double decanted around 3PM. Before decanting it was nice but too soft, after it gained complexity and darker notes. It’s a very good wine but a disagree with RP 98 pts.

15.1% ABV. Right off the bat, the 2009 Alpha Omega To-Kalon Cabernet gives off powerful notes of cassis, smoked herbs, flowers, plums and tobacco. It is full bodied and dense in the mouth, yet possesses remarkable balance and grace for its size. There are lots of red fruits to go along with blackcurrants, minerals and refreshing acidity. Drinking very well right now, with nary a hard edge, yet undoubtedly has years of positive development ahead of it. First class all …

Currants, blackberry, licorice & tobacco. Full bodied and layered as expected. I feel the tannin's could still settle down a bit more but Wendy likes it the way it is. Still my favorite vineyard for Cabs from an outstanding winemaker! Drinking very well now.

Produced from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, the first thing that gets your attention is the black as night color. The cassis and floral notes open things up before you hit all the earthy, blackberry, blueberry, cigar box, licorice and charcoal aromatics. On the palate, the wine combines elegance with powerful, freshness with length and purity, silky tannins and a massive wall of fruit in the finish.
