Henri Boillot Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens

Hmm, could be corked? Seemed like I got a tiny whiff, but can't pick it up now. Even so, this is pretty nice wine, nicely medium intense dried cherry fruit, bright acidity, bit of spice, some lightly grippy tannins, easy to drink, easy to come back for another sip. Tasty. Night 2: not corked, nose is more enticing, some interesting spice notes, palate remains fresh, darker fruit, tannins have softened just a bit, this isn’t delicious burgundy.

On the night I opened this, I thought it was good, but not remarkable. On day 2 this really shined! Medium bodied, nice complexity, firm tannins and great aromas and flavors of cranberry, cherry, spices, earth and a touch of pepper. Really a good wine and has plenty of years ahead.

Beautiful, still so young and restrained with a ton more potential. Dark berries, black berries on the vine, cherries just on the verge of ripeness, spice from the cupboard, herbs from the garden, cedar chest. Pronounced nose, persistent tannins, decent finish. Gorgeous.

A great bottle. Wonderful freshness, mineral lift and aromatic complexity. Still a bit austere, but so much going on here. Cranberry and tart cherry, herbs, rose petal, white pepper, and Ceylon cinnamon. Structured. Built to age.

Acker 2019/10 (Bouley) : Meaty nose, clear palate, fairly focused. 92

Just kindof a basic burgundy although of course those don't have basic price tags. It's more in the austere style. Less fruit. Very crisp. More earthy only. Alright, but not my favorite version of the wines.

2012 Henri Boillot, Pommard, 1er cru Les Rugiens Mørkere farge. Skikkelig forførerisk nese med parfyme, blomster og nykutta jordbær. Strukturert, tettpakket og lukket i munn. Rips, rødbær mineralsk. Trenger mye mere luft. Lang og detlanjert utgang. Kan dette bli Grand Cru? Vanskelig å vurdere. 91 nå kan fort bli 92-94

Dark nose. Sweet blackcurrants and cherries. Full bodied. Cake spice oak. Very juicy/fruity for a Burgundy. Tastes rather New World for me. Very good all the same. Could be great with lots of age/complexity.
