complex, plenty of fruit, modest acidity; lovely

now softer and more complex; lovely with food, though less energy than i prefer for drinking on its own; decant and let stand for sediment

14 yo. Cork in great shape. Clear meniscus not bricking. Integrated tannin and acids - but still present. Cool red fruit, menthol and some wet stone. Not super complex but enjoyable.

Amazing wine from a so-so vintage. Popped and let sit for 2 hrs. Really well balanced.

For a 13 year old pinot, it is still holding up very nicely. Still a lot of fruit to enjoy and the acid is is just starting to fade, but I really like this wine.

The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are slow. There is moderate sediment in the bottle. It tastes like cherry and black currant (cassis). The body is medium. The wine has polished texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

Quite good. My wife said it may be the best WS shes had to date. I was equally impressed given its age. Minimal bricking and the fruit was still pretty lively.

Took to the OK. Disappointing, sweetish without the necessary supporting acidity and a dud next to the European wines others brought.

Raspberry and boysenberry fruit, maybe a little pomegranate. Still more ruby color than brick. Transitions to earthiness and a long finish. This echoes the style I fell in love with 35 years ago with W-S. 3/7/2026 Still full of lovely, lively berry fruit before transitioning to a long, dusty, cedary finish. Theres a softness in the mouthfeel that has me believing its past its peak, but still had a wow factor.

A vary tart, acidic wine, though very pleasurable to drink. Lots if sour cherry and a bracing, medium finish. Less cola and more angular than a lot of WS.

Deep, complex aroma, notes of sweet ripe cherry, strawberry, red currant, raspberry, earth and vanilla. Dense, salty ripe red cherry and red berry flavors with a sweet vanilla, bramble and baking spice finish. Hints of cola and black tea on the finish. Very smooth and well balanced. This is excellent quality, but a bit expensive. Hold — maybe some interesting secondary or tertiary aromas/flavors will emerge.

Cherry red with a tad bricking. The nose is a bit alcoholic. Some cedar, camphor, glycerine. Red raspberries, green plum, cherry, plums and some currant. A bit astringent, but well integrated and nice acid. Not getting the heat that some others had. A very ripe, lush, concentrated wine. Enjoyable. This one absolutely needed the 10 years.

Seems that a bit more of an earthy rustic nature has come out over the last years (our last bottle) and I do still love it - just a bit differently. Still great fruit and longgg satisfying finish. We love well aged WS pinot noir.

The last of the 2010 WS wines I helped make (sigh). Fortunately, an incredible showing. The 2010 Weir was in peak performance, with the fruit still fresh and crunchy, the oak subdued, and the tannin softened. Marvelously balanced, reminiscent of a premier cru Burgundy (but for only $55 on release!). Paired extraordinarily well with Korean short rib bibimbap and the zillion accoutrements. The kicker? Paired even better with tahini chocolate chip cookies... dipped into the wine. I dare you to …

At Boon Fly. One-off auction purchase about 16 months ago at about $73. I've enjoyed several vintages of this bottling, most notably a mag of the '92--I wouldn't have bought such an old CA pinot but it was part of a large private party purchase, and it was amazing--as well as others from WS. While I like several styles of pinot, WS negotiates a middle ground between KB and Rhys particularly well. PnP. Relatively muted nose with notes of red …

Really enjoyed this bottle. After giving the bottle a minute to breathe, it was mellow, smooth, and very enjoyable. Red fruit, cherry, long finish, full bodied, complex, very nice. Too bad this was my last bottle. Drinking very nicely at this time.

A lighter style Pinot. Good balance and lots of cherry on the nose and palate along with some minerality and baking spice. Opened and decanted for 30 mins. I don't think this vintage/vineyard has many years left, the flavors seemed to fade at the finish. Very tasty though and I'd say drink up if you have any.

I opened this for Easter Dinner (smoked ham) on 4/1/18. It had a rich fragrant and downright gorgeous bouquet of raspberry, boysenberry, blackberry, rose pedal and baking spice aromas. The palate was rich, complex and beautifully balanced with flavors of raspberry, boysenberry, blackberry, baking spice and minerals

2010 WILLIAMS SELYEM ALLEN VINEYARD RUSSIAN RIVER VALLEY PINOT NOIR- tasted blind; I had to bring this for the red Burg comparison since we`re doing a blind tasting; I do not know what anybody got as to place of origin, but the raving reviews confirmed mass overwhelming approval; it had a light red unadulterated color; the aromatics were replete with spice and fresh red fruit notes which turned into a lightly sweetened red raspberry, cranberry and red cherry in the …

Absolutely fantastic. Medium nose of cherries, lush and impeccably balanced on the palate. Cherries and blue fruit with perfect hint of creaminess. Nice acidity, lingering finish. Pop and pour, kept improving over about 90 minutes. Protypical high end WS from a good vintage. Glad I've got another bottle.

PnP. Medium deep red. Explosive nose of dark fruits and berries with a cherry coating. Classic RRV velvet with a high toned fruit overlay and thick finish. Over time with air the nose adds a lavender scent and there are violets on the palate. Lovely wine. May integrate a bit more with time but why wait?

Showing very well at the moment. Nearly mature, with all elements in balance, and secondary notes coming into play. Ready to go now, but will make sure to hold my last two bottles for the next 5 years or so, as the Weir bottlings tend to age well.

Beautiful Pinot Noir. Silky with just enough tannin on the finish. Great balance of bright fruit and earthy notes, with a slight emphasis on fruit. Nose has more earth and chalk; palate has plum, cherry, and a touch of dry mineral on the finish. Love this one, but our only bottle and I think we drank a few years too early. May be amazing in 3-4 years.

Very light and refined nose. Austere flavors, quite tight still, not very fruit forward but solidly well made. Very good, very Burgundian but without the earth tones and depth. A little clinical but still solid.
