Very nice, age showed through, with fruit receding, resolved tannins, good secondary flavors of pencil led and earth.

Surprisingly rich and better than the 2017 Catena from the evening before. Had w Roast Chicken Nachos and everyone liked it. One more bottle on hand

I enjoy this every vintage. Fresh red fruit acidity blends with the sweet and spicy from the cask to form a flavorful experience in the mouth. Tobacco, mocha and vanilla are contrasted with a fresh acidic lift.

New vintage of this for me.... On nose: prominent oak and ripe blackberries. On palate: above flavour notes enhanced, in addition to some heat from the 14.5% alcohol.....after a 2 hour decant, warm cigar tobacco , spices, fresh coffee, vibrant tannins , tart raspberry , and a dry wisp of vanilla, on a full body ....the wine is only 3 years old, but has promise, once fully knit together....dark , opaque , purple / black in glass with no lightening …

Malbec, merlot, cab sau blend. Aerated and filtered into the decanter and left for 3 hours. Bright citrus, sour cherry hints on the nose and palate. Crisp, a bit tart. Did not open much in the glass. Integrated tannins and a nice finish, though. A drinkable, middle of the pack wine. QPR about 1.

Very ripe, dark fruit; quite dry with a nice tannic structure, herbal and earthy.

A good age, still firmly tannic, a touch bitter, good dark cherry fruit, earthy notes.

Still drinking well. Deep purple color, a little earthy on the nose, dark berries, still has good structure. Looking forward to enjoying with the NY Strip steak I’m grilling tonight

Full throttle Malbec blend. Let it breathe. Very jammy, but nice chocolate/leather finish. A tad thin. SIPS -4

This was a deliciously dense and weighty blend. Very well balanced. Low acidity. Incredibly smooth A deep rich red color. The legs are slow. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like raisin and prune. The body is full. The wine has silky texture. The wine finishes long.

The wine was good but already on decadent stage. My appreciation is that it should be consumed between the years 2012 to 2016, to fully enjoy it

This needs lots of air, double decanting or leave it to a second day While malbec dominates, some of the finish notes move towards bordeaux brambles and blueberry Outstanding value at Costco price of $10 89/90

Overall impression is that this is a decent wine, but not quite my thing. A little too grapey and something seemed a bit over-ripe to me. When served to guests, I didn't get any positive or negative comments. Neutral

This is another example of a disappointing 91 WS rated Malbec from the since departed Nathan Wesley. This wine gave my wife a headache, and for me all it offered was some brisk (albeit sour) acidity. Acceptable on the nose, but not exciting and not very enjoyable on the palate. The fruit struggles to show through. I purchased only two bottles when I ordered this wine based on my skepticism of Wesley's score. With one down and one to go, …

Labor DAy monday - at home with grass-fed steaks from upstate NY. Nice bottle after it opened up a bit. Didn't realize I had kept it this long in the cellar - I think it improved with time. A good everyday Bordeaux blend.

Initial burst of cherry on the nose then some subtle oak comes out to play, but isn't overwhelming. Ripe red fruit, spice, and a bit of oak on the palate. This full bodied wine finishes with a flavorful punch of fruit, a hint of vanilla and spice along with well integrated tannins. ($13)

Quite surprised as my impression of this bottle differs a fair bit from the previous 4 or 5. I found this to be easy drinking, but a tad fat with a distinct lack of acidity. The Merlot seems to have come to the fore. It's more oaky than I remember previous bottles from this vintage too. The primary flavours for me are dark stone fruits and cigar box. I'm intruiged to know how the last bottle or two perform.

Popped/poured and drank over a 4 hour period. On the nose it comes across like a mid-weight Bordeaux. Starting to pick up some secondary sweaty notes. On the palate, medium bodied with dark cherry and some minerality. Also a smokiness creeps in over time. A hint of something a little sharp on the finish (astringent) clips its length and keeps this from scoring higher. This does not fade or integrate with air. I think I paid around $18-20 for this, …
