01 Alsace and 11 Red Burgundy for work crowd (Home) : Last of the case. Lovely bright, pure, vibrant strawberry fruit. Densely silky. A touch of orange zest too. Consistent with a bottle last month. Lovely and really quite serious despite its superficial charms. ****

Very bright and lovely. A little brighter and more transparent than four years ago, but very much the same wine. Just lovely. Sweet, rounded red fruit, a densely silky texture, and with air a sense of brighter, cranberry fruit coming through on the finish with the faintest hint of orange zest. Superb vfm at around 20quid. Smart village to respectable 1er cru burgundy in style and intent. ****

Lovely nose of red berry fruit. A big spicy Pinot but classically styled with a great balance. Definitely has an old-world feel too it rather than blockbuster fruit. A little dryness from the wood in the finish. Really good.

Delivered today and a bottle opened straight away. Quite serious, heavy glass, reasonably large punt, smart label, wax capsule. Taking itself quite seriously, until the lightweight cheap and pretty crappy short cork comes out. Why?! Deep ruby, verging on the cherry red. Lovely bright, slightly lifted strawberry fruit initially, becoming slightly darker and opening up to show some spice with air. Some sweetness - spice in the cinnamon spectrum - the 30% new French oak comes though as subtle spice …
