Opens with syrupy chocolate and dried fruits comparable to a modern Amarone, albeit one high in residual sugar and packed with Christmas cake–style spices. The finish leans towards the botanical and slightly bitter profile I associate with a good Barolo Chinato. Fascinating and very enjoyable wine.

Very similar to amarone, sweet yet refreshing and not heavy. Everybody liked it very much.
