Virginia Marie Lambrix Pinot Noir San Remo

Submitting this note from memory -- consumed our first bottle of this a couple nights ago. PNP. Beautiful dark plum color; gorgeous, complex nose of red and purple fruit. Quite delicious and a fantastic example of a riper/weightier NoCal pinot noir from a strong vintage. Retail $68. Under cork. 50% new French oak. Apparently, the las vintage of this wine? Fairly dark in the glass, particularly for a Pinot, with sweet red berry fruit on the nose along with some vanilla, and a dash of spice. The palate is certainly fruit-forward but not in an overwhelming way. The fruit is rich (again, coming off as a bit sweet), with above average acidity and a full-bodied finish.
