This rating is entirely based on this being a value wine. Compared to a higher level Pinot, this doesn’t hold a candle. As for this wine, it has some brighter fruit with a bit of a tang. Finish is ok. Moth feel is thin. But for $12 - not bad.

Friday at the strand (Strand Cellars, Croydon) : Black cherry, a little earthy spice, slightly meaty wild ferment underpin and a fair amount of oaky spice. Juicy, fresh black cherry fruit, textured grippy tannins dry out the mid palate. Medium length but quite pleasant.
