Best before date 05/2011. Lot 1892 07 37. An ’8’ per the label, but no pabv listed there. Brewed and bottled by Duvel Moorgaat NV, Puurs, Belgium. On opening there is a delicate sweet white bread/orange spray, with mild caramel backing, pouring dark, with a higher head than some other Belgian Abbey Ales I could name. There is a roast coffee/anise entry, with what may be leather and a little staleness midpalate, but wait and see. Full bitter.burnt chocolate finish. …
