Weingut Wind-Rabold Dornfelder trocken

A simple but acceptable Dornfelder wine. Its colour is very dark and the flavours are typical for this varietal. Sour cherry and elder flavours are dominating. Dornfelder is a cross breeding of Helfensteiner and Heroldrebe. Its is mainly used in blends to give the wine a darker red. Probably this one did not come in contact with oak. I like to use Dornfelder for cooking where it can show its best qualities.
