Franz und Christine Netzl Zweigelt Rubin Carnuntum Selection

Dark, purple colour here, the nose shows violets and dark berry jam, some smoke. Straightforward wine, well rounded Zweigelt-fruit embedded in light toffee toast notes, fresh acidity and mid-long. Well integrated tannins, chocolate on the finish. Drink now, very pleasant.

Dark purple colored; young, reductive and unevolved but also slightly chemical nose; dark berries, smooth texture, juicy style, smoky notes from barrel ageing. Palate is better than the nose. A very good Zweigelt, but nothing exciting. Drink now. - 87-88 points
