Stephanie's Birthday (San Francisco) : This is good! Almost like a still champagne on the nose - green apples, a bit of lees/autolysis, baked apples, slight peachy/melon. Very nice palate- not crazy refined, but clean, strong acid. Medium body, medium alcohol, elevated acid - clean, mostly tartaric. Relatively clean finish. It's not super distinctive, but... as Bernat and I said simultaneously, it's like a warm pat on the shoulder. 8.5-9

Cava with Andrew (Trumpet Wines) (18 Reasons, SF) : 100% Macabeu (Viura) Some slight reductive aromas - rubber. Slight yeastiness (aged on lees? - yes!) Dustiness. Dry, Slightly sparkling - petillant. In the mouth, faint terpenes - floral peach aromas. With some bruised green apple. High acid! Super mineral - chalky. Ripe. Moderate alcohol.
