Whatever phase it may have been going through 4.5 years ago, the Paul Hobbs Katherine Lindsay Estate has come through it! Even at pop-and-pour, it is open and expressive, showing those same flowers, red fruits, blood orange, and a hint of cola as in its youth. There are very few signs of a turn to the tertiary as of yet, so I think these will hold at peak for at another 3-5 years. Buy and drink up for one of …

What a terrific wine. Nose of crushed strawberry, hints of cherry and cranberry, earth. Med+ to high acidity. Palate med+ FI driven by cherry, strawberry, raspberry. Med+ finish 91 pts such a well structured wine

2021 vintage

Outstanding! Garnet color. Nose with hints of cedar, dark berries. Medium viscosity, smooth mouth feel, gentle on the palate yet robust flavors. Allow to breathe. Should continue to develop over a few years.

wonderful concentrated strawberry, cherry and cranberry. loved it.

Black cherry, vanilla, sassafras. A full and layered CA Pinot. Well balanced despite the high alcohol.

Surprisingly ripe and Syrah-like for the cool and challenging 2011 vintage. I'm giving Paul a couple extra points for pulling that off, because I'm not sure how he did it. All the 2011's I've tasted up to this point, except for this wine, have been leaner and greener. Not necessarily a bad thing, but not the big fruit expected from California. We enjoyed a bottle of the 2018 Katherine Lindsay Estate Pinot Noir on Thanksgiving, and another in March. At first universally adored by our small group, the wine seems to have lost some of its expressiveness over the past 3.5 months. That could be due to bottle variation, a distributor purchase, the wine closing down, or just too much Napa cab in our recent drinking history. A richly fruited, aggressively-spicy pinot. I understand a recent commentor's point about a syrah-like quality to it. Not a plus, grant you.

Really lovely bottle of wine, and I was surprised how open it was govern the age. There were some noticeable tannins here so the wine can age, but they are very pleasant/rich now. Probably would have guessed Oregon (maybe archery summit Arcus) from the nose. Very strong cherry cola aroma mixed into the bouquet. Very full of flavors on the palate (dark cherry, cinnamon spice, hints of licorice and blackberry). Thanks to Marshall and Diedra for sharing this treat.
