Clear in color with a burgundy hue. Great mix of dark & light fruit. Got notes of oak & earth on the finish.

Decanted for 45 minutes. The color was a clear light violet. The nose was a mix of dark red and bright red fruits, with some earth. The medium bodied palate showed lots of black cherry, pomegranate, raspberry and cranberry, a good dose of spice and some earth. The acidity was juicy and balancing. Should hold for a few years but can be enjoyed now with a good decant.

This 2014 Moonshine Ranch was good. The last time I had this wine was in 2017 and noticed that it was definitely a little more New World. A little bit of VA I think but not enough to spoil the experience at all. This wine has a Burgundian nose .... A bit of nitrogen, a bit of soil, truffle all detected on the nose. The palate is a little darker but still very verbose. Brambly red and slightly darker wild …

Tcosriff nailed the tasting review. More flavor in the taste than the aroma of this wine. Very Burgundian.

Burgundy color with a bouquet less effusive than flavor, with raspberry, dark cherry, dried brown sugar, and typical Burgundy spiciness, Good balance and nuance with quite a long finish. Very pleasant wine, if just short of a wow.

I'm very fond of Martinelli's pinots, although they are a tad overpriced. But they make for great drinking with or without food. Fruit, depth, length and balance, with enough acid to keep in check but not make you pucker. Concur with the drinking window. Don't wait.

Really nice drinking with roast salmon and red pepper sauce. Great flavor and balance. Noted later this was better with the food than later with a stand alone bottle. Is it possible wine and food make a 1+1=3? BTW, don't think this will get any better, so concur (more or less) with drinking window.

Been a while since I’ve had this vintage and this particular single vineyard from Martinelli. Very consistent tasting note as previous tastings. This is a beast of a new world fruit forward Pinot. Concentrated glass of strawberry jam x 4. Good juice for a wine that you don’t have to think much about and analyze. Pop, pour, enjoy!

A bit thin and sharp, this is a very forward Pinot Noir that finishes a little hot. Strawberry and rhubarb fruit.

Medium bluish ruby colored Ripe strawberry aromas and flavors with a lovely savoriness. No apologies, this is a bit brash, but so tasty. YFS And I definitely agree with the limited drinking window of to 2019 to enjoy the sweet fruit. Serve a bit cool. 15.5% but the fruit and acidity balance it out quite well. (Delicious if you like the style)

Very good value, little thin, but more silky than thin. Long follow through, 6/7 out of 10 in aromatic. Classic Pinot, great buy ~ $60.

This is a beautiful west coast pinot that drinks well young. Bright, sort of in your face fruit. Light body and well integrated. Red fruits. Flowers. Underlying test of liquor that has a nice finish. Wish I had more. This was the last bottle of three and I have one away!

I have enjoyed Martinelli wines in the past but the Moonshine Ranch took my breath away. Great fruit on the front with sweet cherries and red licorice balanced by some forest floor. The fruit is incredible in its purity and ripeness. Perfect weight and body that beckoned for one sip after another. Gorgeous wine that made me wish I had picked up more at the time!

California Vacation (Sonoma, SF, Monterey); 8/5/2017-8/12/2017 : Tasted at winery. Bigger and sweeter than the sonoma coast, this shows ripe red fruit, sarsaparilla, and smoke. This has enough acid to balance out the ripeness, but will be more popular among those who like bigger, fruitier pinot. I liked this better than the SC, but they are really different stylistically, and the QPR on the base SC is significantly better.

At Martinelli this morning to pick up some Jackass Vineyard, nose of forest floor, earth, plum, black berry, and touch of slightly warm cola, same on the palate, medium/big body, fruit forward, mouth filling fruit, very tasty, needs 2 years in the cellar to peak, and a medium/long finish, at $68 a maybe.

Drinking great now... fruit forward, juicy Pinot from a great producer. This is not a wine to overly analyze, just pop, pour, & enjoy.

- Brick color and aromas of mushroom, dusty and blackberry. It's balanced and has flavours of cherry and blackberry with a medium/full body. Smooth texture with a medium finish.

This is a crazy pinot. Poured with some transparency to it into the glass. Dusty rose. The nose out of the glass has some nitrogen, some truffle and some red berry. The entry is acidic with great stone ground red berry fruit that is a touch sweet. Great little Luden's cough drop note in the middle that has a nice layered herbal infused note that is complex and oh so young at the moment! Finishes with great berry flavors and …
