Dinner at D Cuisine (Chicago, IL) : #31-06, 9% abv. Holds its alcohol very well. Incredibly grippy and chewy, this has the hallmarks of a well-executed hot vintage riesling, with some ripe yellow/slightly browning fruit and so much mineral chew. Very full on the palate, this might be leaning towards Auslese-lite as far as the ripeness goes, but at the same time, there's a levity that does bring this back to Spätlese.

7/6/2022 Double Blind Night at Kevin's : [Tasted double blind] Med+/Pronounced intensity, ripe sweet stone fruits, honey, dried apricots, apricot peel, tropical fruits, melon, pineapple, hay, straw. Med/Med+ body, med acid, sweet, long finish. I thought it was Tokaji. Aged fairly well, only missing a fresher cut of acidity, but still showing great honeyed and dried fruits. At its peak, this should not improve from here on, but shouldn't go down either for a while. 90-91 pts

Nose is very expressive, dried yellow honey suckle blossoms, fresh cut yellow peach, bees wax, green melon, lift, slate, and hints of botrytis funk. Color seems advanced for its age. Good concentration with balancing acidity, minerality, fresh apricot and lime citrus dominate the palate, flashes of breadfruit and sappy red apple. Flavor profile doesn’t deliver all the complexities of the nose. Enjoyed at 45-50 with pan fried fluke. Purchased from distributor as direct import and stored accordingly. Drink over the …

Color yellow/light golden, nose of spicy botrytis, with a freshness of white flowers, hint of white honey. Botrytis has a deeper edge to it. On the palate very clean flavor profile, botrytis jumps out with apple sap, hints of lime pith, minerals and sage. Lots of life and freshness, no notice of petrol or bees wax. Wine fleshed out on day two and is just approaching drinking window. Enjoyed at 45-50 with aged Gouda. Purchased from distributor as direct import …

Still incredibly young. No real signs of development yet, just lots of bright, vibrant fruit ranging from more classic Mosel citrus and apple flavours to riper peachy notes. There's good acidity beneath that balances the sweetness well, but this needs time.

Dinner at Steve & Barb's house. AP#31-06. Light yellow in the glass, this lovely wine is still drinking young with a delicate light to medium bodied palate full of minerals, apples, cherries and nectarines. Very long on the finish. I'm not sure why I grab this particular wine every time Dena asks to drink a young Riesling but it is yet to disappoint. 50+12+13+8+8=91

Very friendly and accessible right now (a nice surprise, given how tight and unyielding an '05 Kruger-Rumpf was a few nights before); textbook Mosel Riesling with bright apple, peach and citrus fruits combining with slate and faint herbal and floral notes in a very elegant, polished package. Really refreshing and all too easy to drink.

Indian food with Friends : Very good wine. Green/gold in color. On the nose, this is still young with wet rocks and a slight sugary pineapple note. Medium bodied. On the palate, this could be a bit more crisp, but other than that it is delicious. Slightly sweet. Minerals. Some lemony notes. Clean finish. Ageing quite slowly. I think this was around $25 and well worth it.

Dinner at Steve & Barb's house. AP #31-06. Light yellow in the glass, this wine tastes young but is open as well. Medium bodied and quite delicate in texture, there were loads of white peaches and other stone fruits. Has the richness of 2005. Long on the finish. An easy wine to drink right now but it seems to be getting a little stronger and more serious each time out. 50+13+12+8+8 = 91+

AP #31-06. Green tinged in color, this of course tasted young and primary but very open and enjoyable. Aromas and flavors of citrus - primarily lime, honey, green apples and of course minerals/slate. Medium bodied with a crisp acidity to wash everything down on the medium length finish. Should be a classic given some time. 50+12+12+8.5+8.5 = 91+

Drank this bottle over 3 nights. Nice tropical fruit on the nose and palate. A little more residual sugar than I prefer. I felt like there wasn't enough acidity to balance the extra sweetness.

Very nice, but almost too sweet. Great with spicy food.

Terry Theise called this a "great masterpiece". I'm just not seeing it. To me, a far cry from the superior Zeltinger Schlossberg. It doesn't have the acidic backbone to carry the sweetness. A nice spatlese, to be sure, and a good pair to a sweet chocolate dessert. But I don't see the depth or greatness here.

Right amount of sweetness and fine aroma. Served probably too warm. Need to try again. Good value. Rating: Recommended.

AP #31-06. A light yet brilliant gold color with some green tinting. Light to medium bodied and very young and primary, this wine evoked pit fruits ( particularly white peaches ), cherries, green apples and pears. Lots of fresh acidity and a roundness more than an overt sweetness. Long, clean finish. Should be excellent with some cellar time. 50+12+12+8+8 = 90+

Way too young... but I wanted to get a sense of what the wine was like. Fairly rich and compact. Definitely needs time... will revisit in a couple of years.
