Bringing out the Sorano again. It's clearly ripening. Very quickly opens up to chocolate, liquorice, strawberry, leather and clay - all on the nose. The tannins and acidity quickly grips and snarls the mouth. Silky mouthfeel. Splendid wine. For my taste it's starting to peak or then it's on its way to shut down and peak again later. Regardless a jolly good one.

I believe this wine was aged in Barriques which gives it a rounder and more voluptuous mouthfeel. Mouthfeel is great and more accessible than some other young Nebbiolo. This wine also has darker notes of chocolate/coffee and oak which more traditional Barolos don't have. I liked it and I think it is a very good wine that is already accessible. Been coveting this for quite a while 👃 Familiar, cherry and anis with a hint of mint. Particularly smooth. Leather, sous bois. 👄 Very light, tannins still gripping firmly and we're coming up on 8 years. Smooth velvet, lots of leather and tobacco, above med acidity. Opens up to caramel and darker fruits.
