Bright and pure. This is laser focused and filled with bing cherry and mouth watering pop of acids with hints of savory game and pepper. Tannins are there but not soul crushing. At nearly 10 years, this wine is as fresh as the day it was made. Just starting its journey but drinking well now with a long decant.

Double blind tasting Medium ruby/garnet color Medium plus aromas of red/black cherry and plum and cedar/tobacco with mild new oak aromas Medium bodied with wonderful palate of tart and ripe cherry/ pomegranate and fresh green herbs with white pepper Medium plus tannins and medium plus acidity with medium alcohol Perfectly balanced with long finish I knew this was a well made wine which I thoroughly enjoyed but Syrah was never on my radar and really didn't pick up on any …

Medium ruby, some purple with rim clearing Aromatics medium +. Savory, pepper, cedar, dark blue plums, green stems. On day #2 black olives develop. No traditional new oak notes Palate has a medium body. Acid medium +. Alcohol medium. Tannins medium +, medium grained all over the mouth. Ripe tart cherry, green stems and smoke. Finish has a long length. Balanced. Dry glass notes of eucalyptus. I think this is at it's drinking prime window. Classic, complex, long length, well …

I join in the comments of Marc, below. This is an excellent wine. It does require some hours in the glass or a decant. It shows remarkable herbal/savory richness in a medium body wine with a sensible level of alcohol.

A very beautiful and great Syrah, filled with a very strong personality. Totally expressive of its coastal origins, the low (12.2%) alcohol and the 100% whole bunch ferment add an uncommon clarity to the palate. The wine is lean, but incredibly pure, and does not at all come across as this. Rather it is intense, nuanced, ripe, herbal, and an example of varietal character turned up to 11. Still in infancy, it is completely approachable, but should continue to age …

Tasty, coastal fruit (less body than Clary) with potent but balanced acidity.

Rich without sweetness. Earthy, clean, spicey. Evolved well in cellar over past few years, and still years to go. All achieved at 12.2% alc. Excellent.

A California Cote-Rotie. Spice, fruit, herbs and earthiness. Great wine, that has aged nicely over a few years, with more years to go.

Among the purer, fuller expressions of N. Rhone style Syrah out of Cali.

Savory blue fruits with good balance and a touch of spice. Nice balance and a very nice finish. Excellent.

Deep red/purple in the glass, almost opaque. Red fruits and spice jump out of the glass. On the palate the fruit dominates but there was also a bit of spice, florals and minerality. Finish was medium plus with silky but drying tannins. I loved this, though feel it is still very very young.

Sappy red fruit, lots of cherry and pomegranate, with whole cluster spice. Moderate acidity with soft, supple tannins. Good density to the midpalate fruit but finishes a bit short.

This I find is a step to far in under ripe picking and whole cluster fermentation. Red, sour fruit. Strawberries, raspberries, cranberries, amarelle cherries with some olive brine and bloody meat. High, very tart acidity, light bodied and a touch of green tannins. Decent intensity. Lovely nose, but a bit green on the palate.

Bright, ripe nose of raspberry and pomegranate. 100% whole cluster but hard to tell, with significant concentration and intensity. This has the structure to age.

A blockbuster wine, with ripe, almost jammy raspberry balanced by a gorgeous underlying minerality and a beguilingly-low 12.2% ABV (per label). Bright, open-knit, and delicious today, the 2015 Que Syrah will nonetheless benefit from extensive cellaring. The upside is so large it almost demands it, but restraint will not come easy.

Sampled alongside the Clary Ranch. This is also young and tannic, but more approachable. Fruit flavors mix with strong spice aromatics (cinnamon, bay). Complex and very, very good.

PnP. Stellar complexity and food friendliness. Don't understand Galloni's "powerful" point, but this will definitely age well. 12.2%

Stunning cherry, raspberry, and tea flavors. A real knockout. This will likely get better and more complex with time but even now this was great. I preferred this to the Clary, but only marginally. Both excellent.
