Solid claret, very nice QBR, and the oak notes have subsided with time. This wine just needed a while to chill out a bit and come of age. I like it for a $15 bottle (a.k.a. "the second bottle for the night")

- Crimsom color. It's somewhat balanced with a light/medium body. Polished texture with a medium finish.

This was standard value Cali red wine - lots and lots of oak and gobs of ripe fruit. Oak was of the spicy variety which is not as bad as woody or vanilla oak for me. In any case, not really very Claret-like. I find this style really boring but this is probably better than most wines of this style. Should be a crowd-pleaser as a party or wedding wine.

I love this wine. It is thick and rich, though not heavy. A nice blend of red and black fruits. And a great price.

always nice to find a bottle like this amongst the stash- not a wine you typically lay down for 9 years- nose was nice with a some blueberry, leather and vanilla - the taste carries through in a very smooth way and what is present on the nose carries through to the finish - not overly complex- The oak you would expect from St Francis is there but has resolved itself- This wine has aged into a very food friendly …

Decanted for an hour. This is a lefty type claret, so I was expecting something different. However, the first taste out of the bottle, and through the vinturi to test the effects. Appearance was nice, good deep purple, with little thinning at the edges. It just looked nice in the glass. Not real leggy, but not thin either... Nose was earthy, little fruit, some spice. Body was much heavier than you would think. Lots of tannic backbone with a little …

Very good blend that is very soft. Has nice finesse and would go well with a variety of dishes.

aromas of coffee, mocha & blueberry. initially hot on the finish but cooled after a couple of hours with a smooth warm finish. complex flavors follow the nose with additions of light licorice, rose petals, and charcoal. very pleasing for an every day drinker.

Great Blend. You could taste the Zin with that mellow merlot mixed in definitely aged in Oak. Im a blend type of guy and this was as good as some Merit ages costing twice the price.

Massive oak and fruit. Few tannins, and kind of flabby. Although some nice sonoma components are thier, they are not balanced. This wine has a viscosity that coats your mouth.

Tasted at the store. Bitter, with in your face oak that does nothing to balance but sticks around your mouth. At least there are some dark fruits.

Heritage: Intense nose after Hawk Crest & Steve Kent; rich, black color, dark scarlet; ripe pure cassis, rasp, black, some earthy notes along with a hint of zingy wood-cedar- at end. Thught it was a bigger cab.

[With Strawberry and chocolate p a Saddleback Cab] The nose on the wine makes feel like I am in a Sonoma wine cave with huge oak and fruit. However on the palate I am sorry to say it is completely out of balance; too much oak/vanilla, a little plum, and some bitterness on the brief finish. I still love St Francis, but I would not purchase this again.

Very nice blended wine. Jeff and I enjoyed with grilled steaks. We both liked quite a bit. Nice nose, deep color, slight tannin and dry after taste. Nicely balanced and full of flavor.
