The beloved Blaufrankisch. The grape that I drank wines from for 3 years of studies in Austria and the only Austrian black grape that I respect immensely. Dazzling nose of white pepper, black currant, plum, sweet spices and Mediterranean herbs. Dense, but simultaneously elegant with an exquisite balance of alcohol, acidity and tannins.
