Very nice, but I'm starting to doubt the Langhe 2013s will ever hit the heights of the 2010s and 2016s. That said, this is very structured and really seems to want a few more years in the cellar. Next bottle in 2028.

C's birthday party. Shared a few bottles with friends, so no TN, just a few notes from memory. Exceptionally fine and surprisingly accessible now. The power and earthiness are all there, but the tannins seem already very well integrated. It drank very well.

Similar to my past experiences with the '13 Brunate, the aromatics here show off more of the savory, secondary notes of Nebbiolo rather than primary fruit. I found roasted meat, leather, balsamic spices, dark red plum fruit, and dark floral tones on the nose. Rinaldi's 2013 Brunate is an excellent wine in this great vintage with a nose that is typical of the vineyard but dialed up to eleven with dark cherry, dried rose, licorice, and tar. Full bodied with intense dark fruit and leathery, earthy flavors that show very good persistence. Drink starting 2025.
