Pretty decent bottle from this larger producer. Medium color leads to medium+ bodied flavor for this cab. Not deep in flavor or complex, but good flavor overall. Good length in the finish.

I can't believe all these people liked this... Gave it an hour of air, tried it, poured it down the sink. A complete waste of $27. In fact, it put me off K-J forever. 11/14/25 On thinking about it, I have to assume I got a bad bottle. I have a lot of respect for the CT community and if seven of us rate it 89-91, my distaste must be off base.

I'm typically not a fan of the large producers but this wine (that I bought at Costco for $27) is actually pretty good. Good color and aroma. Leans dry. Medium+ bodied. Long and easy finish. Very nice.

Already approachable at such a young age, this is actually deceptively structured and primary. Black currants, cherries, and oak are wrapped in a blanket of firm, youthful tannin that creep up the longer the wine sits. Nice full-bodied finish. Very good now with a decant but probably a notch better with cellar time.

CT users said it was past its prime now, and sure enough, it was. Not sure how much better it would have been a couple of years ago, though. Not much fruit on it, nose or palate. A bit thin, lean. Aged notes. Not terrible, but don't need to do that again.

Deep ruby. Layered with earthy woody notes against a backdrop of currants, cherries, smoke, vanilla, and cocoa. Offers good complexity, balance, integration, and a long, smoky finish. Well put together.

You get what you expect from a very good Sonoma Cab, but does not stand out in terms of QPR.

This wine appears full bodied a very dark. The nose is fruit and black pepper slightly closed with a touch of oak. The taste is fresh up front fruit that slides into a tannin filled tart finish. The finish may mellow over the life of the wine but it should be in your tummy over the next 5 years max.

Nice nose of heavy fig and a little leather. Sour cherry with spice box and coffee from a heavy oak treatment. Well integrated tannins. Moderate length finish. Very good.

This was very good and had some mineral notes on the nose that surprised me. Definitely a great value if you can find it at Costco.

Very dark purple - 95% opaque. Opened for a day. Nose has decent fruit but instead of spice, the alcohol shows like isopropyl. Above average ripeness, big-bruiser tannins, large structure, low acidity and should improve a little with time. Not bad, just too much heat on the nose imb to give bigger score. (5+9+14+7) = 85

Spice, wood and earth of the nose. Tannins are very present. Plum and raisins. Acidic but not fruity. Nice wine, but I'll take the cheaper KJ Reserve Cab and the $10. Wife agrees.

No doubt this is an excellent wine, showing a great character and balance. But it is still a bit too tight/young and due to that, harsher and more tannic than what you can expect from a 2005/$20+ bottle of wine. Yes, price is its other drawback. This is a no nonsense, very enjoyable cab. Beautiful, blackberry color and raspberry jam on the nose after decanting. Raspberry followed by cherry palate as noted by the previous entry, but I could not find the mocha. A bit tannic, but overall exceptional for the price.

Dark Purple, aromas of plum and dark fruits. On the palate, plum with a decided note of clove on the finish. Not a bad wine at all, but I can do better at the price elsewhere.

Tasted on Labor Day 2007. Definitely a very good wine: dark ruby and great nose with berries, oak, coco, leather and even coffee. Nice full body wine with a well balance of fruit, tannins and alcohol. An elegant medium/full body that delivers a decent and firm finish (30-40 secs). A lot of character here, definitely a pairing wine, preferebly steaks. A wine to always keep home for special occasions: decent/elegant wine under $25 range.

Decanted for two hours. Decent quaffer, with a nose of cherry & cola, especially when aerated. With cola & oak on the back end of the mouth, a bit out of balance & hot on the back end, with a super short finish. Paired fairly well with Thai filet mignon. 5+7+11+5

Served with Sunday dinner of roast beef, roasted carrots and scallion-mashed potatoes (nice match). Nose of raspberry, sour cherry and a hint of mocha. The palate has more of the same, with firm, but smooth tannins. However, the nose is stronger than the palate, as it comes across a little thin. The raspberry is domninant with a plummy finish. Not bad, but wish there was more on the palate. 86-88 points.

This wine is still young, but drinkable. Dark fruit with prominent tannins, medium finish, not particularly complex. Should improve with aging.

Toasted oak, vanilla, and dried alfalfa intertwine on the nose with a bit of alcohol at the end. Cherry on the midpalate but lacking anything too interesting. Alcohols dominates on the finish and mixes with strong tannins. Will smooth out a bit with a little cellaring but will never be anything too special. Miss the 1999 vintage.

Typical cabernet. Nothing outstanding, but easy drinking with some jammy fruits and nice body with average finish.

Very good. Highly structured. Robust, classic cab. Oak but not overwhelming. Repeat.
