Excellent Viognier, not as aromatic as one would expect, but plenty of lemonade flavors.

Ouf...

D'ici 2018.

Monthly Tasting Group: Whites at Monello (Monello, Mpls, MN) : Small taste. Very floral and aromatic as expected, nectarine. A bit pluffy.

Full-on viognier that takes no prisoners. You either like or you don't. I like it for its assertive aromas and texture. Juicy. Super.

Not a fan of this wine. Pretty harsh, lemony, with high acidity. I would guess it would soften with time. My only bottle. Wont buy again.

Broadly lush aromas. Balanced flavors, with a good thrust of acidity.

Fragrant nose with apricot, melon and honeysuckle. Medium bodied, with a nice initial richness, balanced by lighter, crisp apple, melon and persimmon fruit on the finish. Quite delicious, great balance and lovely complexity on the nose.

I've had New World (Australian and USA) Viognier, but never dipped French... until now. This first foray was a good one. Quite different from domestic Viognier (which incidentally, I happen to prefer in the rarely done no-oak style), this was a pleasant surprise. It was a few weeks ago, so I'm forgetting specific tasting notes other than pear + less floral notes than domestic versions, but I do recall enjoying it. Next stop, Condrieu?

this was fascinating. less honeyed and rich and round than I expected, with a refreshing lightness and, dare I say, a little buttery note that helped round it out without coming across like an over-done chard. quite good.
