Shockingly young for a 16 year old wine. Nice herbal notes and plummy fruit. Not sure whether this has the legs to go another few years or not. Good with steak.

What a nice surprise! Got this bottle at the winery quite some time ago and she has been sleeping, quietly forgotten, ever since. Somehow the ribeye with mushrooms in a sherry sauce whispered the wake up call, and indeed, it was a beauty that emerged. With virtually no decant required, a subtle aroma of forest and flowers came forth and dark berries came alive. The favors in this bordeaux style cuvee are immediately interesting with dark berry, cherry, leather, smoke, …

Drinking at its peak right now, but, can still last another couple years, if so desired. Took about an hour to begin showing itself with nice balance between acid, fruit and tannin. Feminine in style and delivery, smooth spice and earth components subtly avail themselves. This Alex Valley T Bar T was the surprise wine from our visit a few years ago.

PNP. Very nice. Black fruit, oak, vanilla. Similar to prior note and an outstanding value on sale from the state monopoly store.

Blackberry, dark nose. Palate has great black fruit, nice structured tannins. Solid.

Very dark purple. Oak and heat on the nose initially, but after 15-20 minutes that gave way to nicely balanced dark fruit and vanilla. Similar flavors on the palate with black cherry, black currant and bell pepper. Smooth mouth feel and finish. The scores would indicate that this has aged well. At $17 at the state monopoly store winter sale, quite a QPR.

Drank with Meurig and Kristie on a Sat night filled with oddly British open-shirted Persians and a corseted catherine zeta jones wannabe, i.e. Prince of Persia. That was some impressively hokey cinema - one of the worst movies I have seen in awhile. Anyway, the wine is a bit thinner and more acidic than most Cali cabs, but definitely had some good Bordeaux characteristics and complexity. Was good with the Camembert and jam it was paired with. I think some …

This wine lacked concentration but was a medium scale wine with some Bordeaux like complexity.

This is in a nice place right now. Classic softer-style California Cab, ready to drink now and full of tasteful oak, earth, and black fruit. Very pretty.

Let this breath for 3 hours and it had a nice balance of fruit and tannins. Had with a steak and grilled asparagus.

Solid. Lightly tannic, rounded, and fairly acidic. Sad that Iron Horse has discontinued their Cabernet line.

Black cherry up front with a vanilla mid-palate. A really nice sour cherry finish is nice as well. This tastes more like a left bank Bordeaux than a typical California Cabernet.

4th Annual VinoCellar.com Celebration Weekend - Tastings and Dinners (Sonoma area, California) : Tasted at the winery as part of the VinoCellar 4th Annual Celebration. 54% Cab, 33% Petit Verdot, 13% Cab france; Again very underripe fruit and a big green streak throughout the wine.

Vinocellar 4th Annual Celebration; 2/16/2007-2/18/2007 (Sonoma County) : Tasted at the winery as part of the Vinocellar 4th Annual Celebration. Quick notes: bright cherry fruit, dark raisin tastes with tight tannins, a short finish. Mediocre to Fair.
