Too old. Not drinkable.

Wine has held up well. Excellent balance with the qualities of Rhône Syrah that Zaca Mesa continues to offer.

Fantasmic. Roasted meat and dark fruit and everything in between. Aged beautifully.

This bottle was more astringent than the last and a touch sour. Much better with food though.

Very nice bottle of Syrah. Found ample fruit and enough tannins to pair well with a beef rib roast. This will last a few more years imho.

Flat. Lack of depth. Wouldn't buy again.

Not spectacular but it paired well the Beef Stroganoff meal. A nice mellow wine with a slight earthiness to it.

Blackberry jam, light and clean on the finish

Nice deep color, and good nose, but I felt the fruit was muted on the palate this point by tannin and oak. Will need to believe it will improve with age before I decide to buy more. Note: Loved the ZM Black Bear Syrah for this vintage.

Nice wine, but better options out there.

aroma - dusty/musty, mild fruit is unexpected, pepper, leather; taste - chewy dark fruits are mixed with chemical smoke flavors, dragged further down by lack of and fullness or roundness in the taste

Beautiful dark color. It had a fullness on every mouthful. We detected an eucalyptus hint on the finish. We enjoyed it very much and have 2 more bottles. Looking forward to them in the future.

Looks the part, with dark purple color. Enticing varietal nose, forward though not explosive. Very nice in the mouth, lots of purple fruit but held nicely in check with good structure, a firm acid backbone, and a fine balance of components. 4-11-16-7: 88/100.

I was bit surprised by the cork in this bottle. It looks like it was intentionally only put in part of the way. When I first looked at the bottle, it looked like a sparkling cork. I have two bottles and it looks like this was part of the design. The wine itself is a bit jammy. It was smooth but not particularly well structured.

Big Syrah. Dark fruit, lavender and tar aromas. Full bodied, high in alcohol, chewy tannins. Has a warmer climate feel to it.

Broad and tannic. Oak may cover up some good fruit right now.

Moderate, meaty nose. Dark fruit flavors with a noticable level of tannins.

Tasted after the 2006 (oops). Where the 06 is perfect now, this one is still a young buck. Tremendous potential, but still a bit wild and wiley. Hot in the nose and mouth from the high alcohol, but clears to reveal bold, dark fruit that goes very deep into the heart of the wine. I'll be eager to taste again when the fruit emerges more. Nice earthiness with tanned leather. Solid tannins with a big backbone. I'm predicting a good …
