Popped and poured. A lot of earth tones; forest, woods, branches, etc. Took a while (few hours) for this to open up and the fruit to show itself. I'm still unsure if I like this wine or not. If aerated for a few hours I definitely enjoyed it more.

Dark fruit and full body. Very tight initially but opened up and smoothed out a little; more Old World style than expected from a CA blend at this price ($16). OK, but I wouldn't seek it out.

Dark maroon ink hue. Light body is a pleasant surprise, enough weight to stand up to the richer meal. Nose had some brett at pop that hung around on day #1, but day #2 had disappeared. Blueberry dominates up front and subsides to black brambly fruit, hint of plum at the finish. Oak is in check throughout, barely noticeable - fruit shines with faint hints of vanilla and cardamom. Drink now. B-/85 = 50/5/10/7/8/5
