my note in 2018 was spot on for this... unfortunately my "hope" that the acidity would mellow and allow the fruit / body to come to the front hasn't happened... given that acidity however, its possible this (again) simply needs another 7-10 years??... maybe, but I'm betting its a flip of the coin... not bad but not good either (at least now)

2023 Burgundy tasting by Domaine Wine Singapore (Domaine Roblet-Monnot) : Pronounced nose intensity with notes of red and black cherry, strawberry. 2023 barrel tasting with Roblet Monnot.

Very dark garnet. A: brooding nose of iron and dark woods and even a bit meaty. F: palate is also dense with dark plum and cherry eventually giving way to a very bright and lifted finish, a strong mineral streak and still somewhat chewy tannin. Totally not what I was expecting. Limited volnay experience has been floral and pretty, whereas this seemed very powerful and “masculine” in nature. Really liked this wine, quite complex and probably far too young!

this is classic for Taillepieds and for 2011... red fruit, medium to light bodied, highly acidic / bright, fine wine to have with food, hoping (and expecting) it will put on just a tiny bit of flesh / body after another 5 years or so, if it does this could merit a higher score - perhaps considerably higher

Eye: dark red Nose: floral, cherry, blood orange Palate: Cherry, earth and iron with medium + acidity and medium + finish. Overall this was sexy and delish. Great balance and finesse but I was a touch early here. I think another 3 years and she will be perfect, enjoy!

Perhaps an unfair comparison but tried this right after a right bank '11 Bordeaux. The Volnay Taillepieds was delightful. Not a vintage people shout about but this was elegant and delicious on the palate with some air. Granted not a lot happening on the nose but even there, subtle berry/floral notes added to the overall' pleasantly surprised' feeling. Am keen now to try some of their 12 or 14's if I can find any. Would be happy to have these …

What a difference from the same maker santenots. Biodynamic maker. This one has stems and the tannins show.

Excellent concentration with lots of minerals and deep cherry fruit. Some rough tannins detract a bit from a medium finish. Good value.

Initially comes across much riper and more fruit-forward than my other recent experiences with this wine with a pure, sappy black cherry flavour dominating and much more richness than I recollect. With some air the fruit takes a step back as the stony minerality and fresh herbal elements emerge, and it becomes much more interesting.

Very much like my last experience with this. Incredibly pure, bright red fruited and black cherry flavours with herbal and floral seasonings, and a base of vividly stony minerality. Fantastic wine.

This doesn't have quite the flesh of many other '08s, but it does have a hell of a lot of personality and a pretty muscular structure -- seems a likely candidate to close down hard for a very long time. But at the moment it's packed with character with the Volnay stoniness even more emphatic than the fruit. I've had silkier Taillepieds but few so evocative.

A wow from the first sip - incredibly aromatic and pure, showing layers of crunchy red fruits over a stony mineral base with floral, herbal and savoury earthy nuances emerging with air. There's an incredible freshness and clarity to the flavours and this is a wine I really must find some of for the cellar.

Tasting wine with Pascal Roblet-Monnot (At winery) : Barrel taste. Fantastically complex nose with dark fruits rather than red berries, very velvety but with some tannic dryness at the end. Has grip but you don't notice it at first. 93-95.
