Medium red; spiced dark fruit; rounded, caramel flavours, light expression; nice (tasted against CdP same year - CdP much heavier, more spiced, more powerful, but not necessarily better tasting, CdR seems finer / more refined); CdP clearly for food; CdR can be drunk just by itself

Medium minus intensity aromas of dense plums, quite rich, sweet spice, slightly earthy. In the mouth it's savoury, juicy, slightly bitter tannins are drying on the mid palate, flavours of plums and cherries, medium plus length, a little alcoholic warmth on the finish is non-intrusive. Hmm.

My predictions were wrong! Opened up after an hour. Drinking beautifully. A typical, good S. Rhône

What struck me most was the nose. Quite intense banana smell which was very weird. Nothing to suggest bananas on the palate.

On opening, intense blueberries and red fruit, raspberries, violets. Deep maroon colour. No inkling of the 14.5% alcohol content at all, intense red fruits with balanced acidity and a long tea leaf bitterness at the end which was pleasing, tannins were rounded. An enjoyable glass, does not require much decanting. Currently drinking well.

Deep dark ruby, slight fading to rim. Nose fairly reticent, some berry fruits, definite garrigue herbs. Big palate though. Black plum, but lots of redcurrant this time. Some pepper, more spice islands spices such as cinnamon or clove, warm Mediterranean herbs. Liquorice. Good length, decent acidity. Significant alcohol but not burning high. Excellent CdR, great QPR. Update: 24hrs later the black berry fruits are much more apparent, the red very much in the background. Still very decent though.

Grenat intense. Nez sur les fruits rouges et noirs, épices, poivres. En bouche, fruits noirs, tanins veloutés, longueur moyenne, ne va pas dans la finesse, mais c'est agréable avec le repas (spaghetti tomates et basilics).

The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry. It tastes like blackberry, prune and vanilla. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.

My favorite CdR. Very consistent with the estate's other wines; like a baby CdP. An excellent value.

Clear cassis notes, no wood; thick, meaty and tanninic, however there is a kind of bluntness which I'm not fond of. Also, taste of deep frozen and then cooked raspberries - a bit awkward. Far from being bad, still I couldn't grow to really like this one. For me, definitely not worth the almost 17 EUR it costs.

Some pepper, more spice islands spices such as cinnamon or clove. Liquorice. Good length, decent acidity. Spoiled a little perhaps by highish alcohol. Over two nights, better, smoother on the second. Excellent CdR, great QPR.

Still dark ruby. Very decent CdR. Plenty of black berry fruit but with bits of plum and definite cherry too. Some animal meaty quality. Good acidity. Solid tannin structure but not obtrusive. Good concentration, solid body. Good value too.

Loved this wine. Deep somewhat turbid ruby color; rich nose of sweet cherry, soft wood notes and some alcohol; mouth filling palate that comes in waves with initial rich cherry followed by sweet plum, spices, soft tannins and long finish. Very well balanced. Bright, vivacious (as described by Italiana) yet rich. Fun to savor. The best wine at this price I have had in some time.

Servi frais. La syrah ressort, les tannins sont souples, l'alcool peu visible, un très bon CDR pas agressif.

Dark dull purple, cloudy; lots of raspberry and cherry with a distinct meaty note that I always get from this wine, rich, bright acid, delicious though cloudiness seemed to muddy the flavors for me.

Moderate purple in color, with a pleasing mild aroma of cherry, plum, and stone. The flavors were weaker than the body, yet the tannins were polished. The finish was of good length with slight complexity. A decent wine for the price, but nothing to get excited about.

Young but shows the class of the Cotes du Rhone Village classification - plump and meaty with a lot of depth of fruit. Right now the only thing that points to a higher end CDR is the lack of heat - it has the sweet, deep fruit but without the heat of the cheaper wines. This should age for quite some time - very assured and wears its power well. Drinks well now but will be better in a few …

Hard for Cotes du Rhone to get much better. Beautiful floral notes along with dark fruit and a meaty component that is LVJ. Lots of depth on the palate, but much lighter than one would expect hinting at red fruits due to the great acidity. Extraordinary balance for a 2007. Sheer pleasure to drink at a price that doesn't hurt at all. Need more. Like this now but should be able to last til age 10.

Pop 'n pour - consumed over 3 hours. Fairly fruit forward for a CdR - lots of ripe dark fruit along with some garrigue to hint that this is old world. Nice balance and structure -- should age nicely for a few more years. Good wine. I wasn't wowed by it, but I enjoyed it very much.

Nose started off with some heat, plums, and winter spices. The nose drifted from a plum-driven nose, to one with distinct funkiness, and to one that was driven by violets. The palate was dense and featured big plum fruit with minerals and spices. The fruit was just too dense for my taste...certainly not a bad wine though.
