Mountain Tides, Petite Sirah, Contra Costa County

Deep ruby. Black cherries, damson, syrup, fig nose. Similar palate with cedar. Smooth, well balanced with well integrated tannins. Good wine which will probably continue drinking well for another 3-5 years (couple of bottles left.)

As advertised, on the lighter side for CA PS. Black cherry, pepper, plum, matchstick and dark berry fruit carry the medium bodied frame through to a smooth, pleasant albeit short finish. Not disappointed with this in any way but also don't see much benefit from aging this much longer

Inky purple, medium+ weight on the palate, fully integrated tannins, notes of white pepper and very restrained red fruit. Fantastic petite Syrah.

A marvelous, light-touched approach to Petite Sirah. Inky purple, but light, fresh, and alive, with near-translucent tannins. This wine suggests a record-breaking number of food pairing possibilities, wow.

Super wine, opens up very lively and inky but settles down into forest fruit and coffee flavours. Slightly funky nose, is that tiger nuts I detect?

A Petite Sirah that's remarkably fresh and light. Lean blackberry and plum fruit, with minerals, lavender, a hint of cedar. A quick, clean finish leaves you looking for the next sip. Light structure, 13.4% ABV, and low-key tannins make this an approachable food-lover's wine. Avoids the big PS fruit profile and tannins in favor of a stylish alternative to Pinot Noir, Gamay, and Grenache, all at a superb QPR.

Give it time to open up and it rewards. A Petite Sirajolais.

My first wine from this producer, who makes only Petite Sirah. A great first impression. Needs a bit of time to open up, but shows lively dark fruit, strawberry, coffee, garrigue. Overall impression is a medium-weight young wine that drinks great right now (would fill in anywhere a good Beaujolais would work), but could likely age 1-3 years with no problem.
