Was nice. Little earthy notes that held it back but a good cab. Didn’t blow me away though

Drinking at its full potential now! A wine ready to drink with little or no decant. A great balance of tannin, acidity and body with a presence of dark fruit and pepper. Wonderful on a chilly fall evening with food (such as chili, chips & queso.

2008 vintage

Quite smooth and balanced my guess was left bank. Rather surprised, evolved from 90.5 a few years ago to 92. Ready to be enjoyed now .

2016 vintage

Color deep ruby with pink rim. Nose light on fruit, some cherry and tart red fruit in there with vanilla, toffee, and a strong wet slate aroma. Weak acidity and fruit on the palate. Floral and herby, almost medicinal on body. Dry grippy tannins and a long finish but not a very flavorful one.

Definitely mature but not whacked, Oak integration is there, super ridge still- Amazing really, still young thou. Fruit is prevalent, oak and tannins creeping in. All in all good juice. Nice effort- Drink now w/decant thru 2025

2008 vintage

A bottle I had in June, 2017 was too tannic. This one was just right. So-so nose leads to big flavors on the palate. Mixed red and black fruits, with a hint of tobacco that became more prominent over the course of a couple hours. Mouthfilling fruit, with a medium body, but a rather ordinary finish. Terrific right now with fatty foods, but still quite tannic. Will probably stay at or near its peak for another two or three years.

Drinking very well right now - doubt it will get better with further aging. Recommend drinking full bottle among friends as it didn't last well into next day or two.

Opened about 45 minutes before dinner (grilled rib-eye). Nice Napa Cab nose. Still quite tannic, with various black and blue fruits fighting for attention. A good, but very tannic finish. Right now, it's great with fatty food, but not all that enjoyable on its own. I only have one other bottle, and I'm holding it until mid-2019.

Had at a restaurant. Popped and poured. A little heat at first, but a great nose of ripe dark fruit. Nice balance of fruit and earth. Finish was a tad on the short side. I would think that this is just entering its drinking window but no rush to drink. A couple of more years will help this wine.

still too young, had a 1998 hendry side by side, give this a few more years to gel up. The 1998 was stellar be comparison. The bones are there for sure.

As suggested by Mr Hendry himself, we served the wine with a pot roast my wife made and it was a perfect combination.

Deep, dark crimson. Woody bouquet of cassis, blackberries, mocha, and red currants, with notes of pencil lead, earth, briars, and toasty oak. This is more savory than sweet and extremely young. It opened up after a 2-hour decant, showing structure, good fruit purity, and Old School class, but it was tight until the last drop. Needs time.

Very dark ruby color; appealing, black currant, blackberry nose; rich, black currant, blackberry jam palate; medium-plus finish 91+ points

Aromas Jump from the glass. Decanted for 3-4 hours. Spicy with currant, sage, cedar, dark cherry, black pepper, bay leaf and espresso. On the palate flavors of cassis, cherry, baking spices, black pepper, vanilla, toasty oak, caramel, leaf tobacco, dark roasted coffee and herbs. The tannins are fine grained and well integrated with moderate acidity. The finish is long and has intensity with flavors lingering on wood, cassis and sage.

Not decanted, but it would definitely benefit from 1-2 hours decanting. Classic, very pretty nose of spicy black and red currants, dark berry, black cherry, with dark chocolate and smoke; youthfully alcoholic, fresh and mildly herbal on the nose. Palate is medium-bodied, more currants and cherries, very spicy, but the fruit does not have great concentration, which is what you pay for... this gives the wine away as a 2nd tier type, at least quality-wise. There's an eggy, creamy texture …
