SLDS November 2019 : Mango, peach, pear, lemon and ginger. Moderate sweetness but there is good length and flow to go with it. Well balanced and lovely to drink.

Tonvis av torkad frukt, aprikos, russin, fikon och smörstekt annanas. Ljuvlig smak med intensiv sötma, bra syra och en underbar krämig textur. Ett fantastiskt vin!

Clear, medium intensity, golden color. Clean, developing nose with pronounced intensity. Fresh and dried pineapple, mango, peach, dried apricot, marzipan, candied nuts, fresh grounded ginger, sweet spice, candied nuts, honey and whipped cream. Man this nose is delicious! Sweet, medium(+) acidity and medium(+) body. Rich and oily mouthfeel. Pronounced intensity of flavors. Dried tropical fruit and stone fruit. Marzipan, whipped cream, sweet spice and lemon curd. Smooth and balanced in a long finish. Damn good! Will keep for a long …

Lovely dessert wine in a lighter style than Aszu, but with all the complex aromatics of the Furmint grape. Kept well for a week, improving in fact.

2001 Rioja (Maryland) : Golden-apricot colored. Gotta love that rich nose of pineapple, orange marmalade and clover honey. Rich and tropical on the palate but lots of candied orange peel, dried flowers and dried mango. Honeyed and sweet but it tempts balance with this refreshing acidity. Lovely stuff, especially when paired with a baked apple tart and vanilla ice cream. A great way to end the evening.

(thanksgiving.Brunner) Lemon custard, good acid balance, not too sweet. Clean, yet oily rich, with sauternes-esque golden honey and passionfruit.

Drunk as and accompanying dessert at dinner with friends. No tasting note. Supposed to be a lighter, easy-going version of Tokaji Aszu, with a less rigorous selection of the grapes: not only botrytis affected berries go into the wine. Nonetheless this was extremely enjoyable, not very sweet, with good acidity, and a slight bitter note on the palate which made it even more interesting. Tokaji Aszu wines require more attention, more aging and more care with the pairing. This drank …
