This is fading, and it threw some sediment. This shows rose petal on the nose; tertiary notes of plum and autumn leaves, with light tannins and red berry fruit on the medium to long finish, with moderate acidity. This won't improve from here; it's time to finish it.

This is nice except for one weird problem - it has low to no tannins. My gut tells me that I did not have a flawed bottle, and instead it's just past peak Sauteed mushrooms, leather, graphite, ripe red raspberries and ripe red cherries on the nose. Intensity of aromas is high. It smells all of its 11 years. The palate, however, feels like that of a much younger wine. It adds smoked wood and is a good bit more …

Rose petal and faint camphor on the nose. On the palate, rose petal, beef blood/iron, and notes of cherry, old leather, and autumn leaves, with no detectable tannins and good acidity on the medium to long finish. This is still complex and balanced, and although its intensity is starting to fade and the tertiary notes are getting stronger it's still a beautiful wine. It won't get better from here, so it's time to finish these.

This is dry and needs food to go with. A strong cheddar or saucisson will make this taste great

Pouring this right out of the cooler and no decant. Color is beautiful. Jewled Ruby with shades of mahogany. Very mild limpidity. Bouquet is fresh raspberry with spiced vanilla. Doesn't feel like a classic old world Barolo. Nice but made more modern style. I need to look this one up but I'd be it's aged in smaller French oak. Palate if full and rich and follows the nose. Very elegant pour. Nicely balanced, dry and moderately hot. Finish is even …

Classic Barolo. Roses on the nose; roses, cherries, and a faint leathery note on the palate, with well-integrated tannins balancing the other elements. This is not a big, dramatic wine, but it is well made, reasonably complex, and beautifully aged.

Smooth as silk. Drink now, don't hold any longer.

Smoke and tar and dark fruit on the nose. Very plush nebbiolo fruit flavor with a moderately sharp acid backbone that really works well with the fruit. Modest tannins at end. Not complex, but very nice overall taste and balance.

Key to Barolo = age. Time well spent in the bottle, raisins on the nose, burnt fruit on the palate, elegant tannins. Could have decanted longer.

Smoke and dark fruit on the nose. Juicy fruit on the palate with nice acid and lovely tannins -- lovely balance.

Recently purchased for $40, library-like release from a store that specializes in Chadderdon wines. Effusively anise, leather and cranberry nose with a hint of oxidation. In beautiful condition right now, with a very traditional profile unencumbered by intrusive oak. Packed with flavor and solid all the way through the still brusque and assertively drying tannins. This may be ready right now and I wouldn't bet on longevity from here because the tannins bite a little more than they should at …
