PnP. White flowers--daisies, white fruit--pear, peach. Mineral, asparagus. A bit more neutral/subtle than NZSB. Inoffensive, but not looking for more. age-faded?

Still drinking well. A bit lighter bodied with more minerality & citrus than the 2012.

Really nice, well-balanced SB with good acidity, minerality, & fruit. Still drinking well, but don't hold any longer. Paired well with pan-fried shishito peppers.

Drank like an older Bordeaux. Acidity is starting to fade while more a creaminess start to appear. It has aged/developed nicely in the bottle.

Found this in the cellar, decided to open it just for kicks. Pours a very pale gold, just a tiny hint of age. The nose is restrained, with tropical fruit and pear blossom. The barest hint of cut grass shows too. On the palate there is considerably more body than something from NZ and even a lot of Sancerres. It's balanced very well though, with the acidity and barrel notes working harmoniously together. There is a depth here that everyone …

Light brilliant yellow. First note are of citrus--more tangerine than lemon. There is also some smoky minerality on the nose. That palate starts off rather plush but there is plenty of focus and balance to the flavors of citrus, melon and a touch of exotic spice. This lingers nicely on the palate and is quite fresh and refreshing. Drink now to 2018.

Very interesting, in a good way. Thicker mouthfeel, slightly saline/fishy taste (but not bad). Herbal, some fruit. Fun.

Pale yellow in color, the palate is peaches and lemon, not overly citrus with minerals and straw, a really nice finish.

Big nose with tropical fruit, grapefruit and beeswax aromas. Palate is medium body with more body than a typical SB. Round, sunny fruit is supported by medium juicy acidity. This is a bigger SB - night lean and racy - but fruity and fresh. Packs a delicious flavorful punch. Good in a non-typical style.

Not quite as fresh as a year ago but still enjoyable. Notes very similar to those from my previous bottle but there's more of a salinity aspect and the wood aging shows a bit more prominently. Drink now.

Popped and poured, consumed over 3 hours. Nose: Medium expressiveness, apricot, licorice, lemon and a good dose minerals – crushed rock. Palate: Medium bodied, creamy mouth-feel, peach and lemon attack with a big mineral driven kick mid-palate, plenty of acid appears towards the back-end. Finish: Medium-plus length dominated by minerals and a sense of semi-tart citrus fruit. A bit more mineral driven than my last experience with this about a year ago.

NOW I get it. I am discovering I like Bedrock whites about 1 year after I receive them. They develop fantastic complexity--in this case white grapefruit, lemon, and sea salt notes. Very nicely done. Will keep my 2012 until next year!

Again, very consistent bottle to bottle. Tropical aromas with hint of grapefruit and chalky minerality on the finish. Fairly rich mouth feel for a sauvignon blanc. Nicely balanced between new and old world styles. Excellent effort for a California SB.

Perhaps over the hill? THere are moments of the buttery tast of a Cali Chard. Not bad as something to sip prior to Cab and steak. Not as good as the ones from last summer. On to the 2012s.

It has been a really long time since I have enjoyed a Sauvignon Blanc as much as this one. I am on the Bedrock mailing list and did not receive my Spring '12 order until recently. This '11 is gorgeous. Lemon zest and smokiness on the nose. Fuller than average mouth with a subtle creaminess. Terrific finish with vibrant acidity. This wine has at least another year in it.

This one was my last bottle of the the 2011 and gave it an extra point from my other bottles as I thought this had improved a lot since last year. Just a great example in what I like to see in a SB. The tropical fruit notes just seemed so clean and crisp.

- Aromas of grapefruit and lemon and has flavours of grapefruit - Citrus notes, particularly lemon zest. Nice aromatics going on with this over a couple of days. For $22 it is hard to beat.

Forgot to note this wine which I pulled out of my cellar on Feb. 11th. I'm not necessarily a huge SB fan, but this one avoids the over-the-top grassy aspect that I often find in Cali versions. This was more citrus, with a nice lush mouthfeel, while still maintaining structure.

A light golden straw color. Apples, lemon zest, peach, fresh cut grass, flinty minerality, grapefruit, and some baking spices on the fresh and clean nose. Light to medium body with tart, mouthwatering acidity. Big citrus and herbal elements on the palate. White fruit and a bit of peach give way to a load of citrus with the herbal notes and minerals coming in on the back end. Long, lingering finish with the citrus and herbal notes. An outstanding Californian Sauvignon …

Popped and poured, consumed over 2 hours. Nose: Medium plus expressiveness, lemon tart, tropical fruit, and salty buttered popcorn. Palate: Light to medium bodied, tasty tropical fruit up front, joined by a mineral kick mid-palate turns creamy and slightly sweet again in the back-end. Finish: Medium plus length dominated by tasty tropical fruits with just a hint of minerality. This wine is singing this evening - outstanding.

I last tasted this 1 year ago. My notes ... A little oak on pop n' pour that quickly blew off. I didn't smell any fruit or citrus. A smooth, very easy to drink crisp S/B that was delicious with grilled red snapper. In May 2012, no oak at all. I still didn't smell/taste any fruit. There was nothing unusual about this wine other to say that 4 adults enjoyed it! We drank this SB at brunch with mostly breakfast …

Very good sav blanc - not too grassy but still has zest and even richness (presumably due to the wood). No petrol here....

really pronounced petrol on nose so much so that it obscured the fruit a bit. On the palate a bit of tropical fruit. A bit tough for me to rate as it was very atypical for an SB, but definitely a well-made an interesting wine. Apparently the petrol aromas may be related to being predominantly Sauvignon Musque.

april fools wine tasting; 4/1/2012-4/2/2012 (Scott & Todd's) : Opened 3/31. Modestly rich for a SB, with tropical grapefruit and increasing grassiness with air. Few notes taken by me or anyone, with more attention being paid to the less familiar wines floating around at the same time. Solid SB, but in my mind just a SB.

A very nice version of CA sauvignon blanc without the stereotypical grass/cat pee features that I do not care for. I still prefer the Merry Edwards SB but that also costs about $15 more. I will keep buying for at least several more years to see where Morgan takes this. Very good stuff.

Popped and poured and this definitely improved with some air. Nose is pretty tight but shows some grapefruit and other citrus. Tight in the mouth as well but after some air the fruit is the star. Showed nice, crisp grapefruit and lime, and a touch of minerality. I'd definitely recommend at least 45 minutes of air.

Dinner with Friends (Steve & Julie's) : This was nice as well. It needed some air to open up. Not as nice a nose as the floral drive Virginia Viognier next to it. It was tight on the nose with some grapefruit. It had more body to it and worked a bit better with the food. Some complexity. I would have preferred a bit more going on though. It was a very solid wine but my expectations were higher.
