Thierry Delaunay Sauvignon Blanc Touraine

Still drinking very well, wish I had more.

Colour: very pale yellow/green Nose: gooseberry, lemongrass, grapefruit, lime. Pungent and rich. A hint of flinty smokiness. Summer biscuity richness from lees? Palate: gooseberry, green capsicum, lemongrass, grapefruit, lime. As on the nose, a touch of flinty smokiness. Pungent, rich, full-bodied, flavoursome. Perhaps a touch of sweetness to counter the bracing, lively, linear acidity. Typical Sauvignon. 12,5% alcohol.

Love the crisp acidity and tang of this wine. Apple, kiwi and subtle citrus make this a sure winner.

Bright fruity grapefruit notes with crisp acidity. Light body with a clean mineral finish.

Grapefruit and citrus notes, and a taste of pear, with bracing acidity. Hint of lemongrass and smoke in the nose. A well-balanced Sauvignon Blanc that would pair nicely with fish or shellfish.

Crips with citrus and tropical fruit and minerals that are tasty. Well partnering with fennel salad and sea bass baked with herbs and vegetables.

2nd bottle Very light straw color in the glass. This bottle had more peach/pear aromas than the last and slight minerality on the nose. The palette matched the nose. The finish is crisp. The flavors are long lasting.

Crisp and zesty. Floral nose. Tropical fruit with slate in the mid-palate. Balanced and light; drinkable on its own.

Grapefruit and minerality on the palette. Crisp finish.

Very light straw color in the glass. Pineapple, apricot and slight minerality on the nose. Add a little hint of citrus rind to the palette. The finish is crisp and mouthwatering. The flavors are long lasting. I would buy this wine again.

Grapefruit, chalk and grass on the nose followed by grapefruit and creamy peach on the palate with a mid finish. Nice sauv blanc for the money.
