Consistent notes from my last bottle, but softer tannins - "Inky & silky, with black & blue fruit, creamy mocha and a little dust. Long finish and soft, but noticeable, tannins."

The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are slow. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like blueberry, blackberry, black currant (cassis), forest floor and stoniness. It tastes like blackberry, blueberry and black currant (cassis). The body is medium/full. The wine has smooth texture. The wine finishes long. The wine has medium acidity.

Deep colour with obvious sign of age. Dark fruit with smooth palate and softening tannins. Long finish. Still plenty of life left - would not have picked as 10 yo. Very enjoyable.

I let it breathe and decant for an hour and still nothing. It’s past it’s prime. If you own it drink it now.

Very tightly wound right out of the bottle. Smelled like oxidized wine. Gave it half hour to open up - complete transformation. We'll layered and long finish

Remember this being smooth and fairly balanced. Talk about dark, this was deep deep purple. The 15.4% alcohol didnt dominate like one might expect. Paired pretty well with bbq. This was a very nice petite sirah. Didn't find this over extracted at all. Nicely done.

Absolutely delicious. A little tight out of the bottle. Gave it two more days and really opened up. Chocolate notes, cherry. Very nice.

Decanted for about 3 hours and wine was stellar. Glad I have two more bottles.

2009, actually. Chocolate nose, Oh boy, drink with dark chocolate and it is a definite a hydraulic dessert. This was best of show or Jessup! One et to taste though.

Started off very dry with much tannins and tasted of the small young grapes. But later with food, the flavors evolved and had bigger flavors.

Very strong initial red berry (raspberry) taste followed by smooth mid and end palate with smooth tannins and finish. Already drinking well and worth opening. The initial raspberry taste is strong and pronounced but not overpowering to the rest of the taste. Re-tasted rest of bottle few days later and it held up well. Lost some of the finesse but the initial red berry taste was still there and pleasant.

A nice petite sirah, dark a bit more earthy but nice fruit. I didn't like it as much as the Ledson petite sirah.

nice nose, good color, has some tannin (even second day). Good fruit, not much earth and thats what I like in a sirah.

What a fabulous wine. The bouquet was intoxicating, with wonderful fruit and a hint of oak. The wine was still tight, and easily could have been cellared another year (did not decant). We are talking a big wine with big fruit, muscular with nice tannins and a hint of alcohol that softened over the 2 hour dinner. An elegant finish and generous mouth feel that just got better as the evening progressed. Made a great companion to my cheeseburger!
