Typical excellent Pinot Noir from Fred Scherrer !! The cork was perfect a dozen years in the bottle, easily removed. This balanced Pinot Noir was consumed over two days. Deep ruby color with little to no oxidation, clarity medium. This balanced wine showed more fresh fruit the first day and was much more soft and integrated on day two and had not fallen apart. Aromas of cranberry and pomegranate. Silky flavors of red cherry, raspberry, and sweet strawberry compote with …

PnP, but definitely benefits from 15 - 20 minutes of air to open. Red fruits, earth, and some cola greet you on the nose. The medium bodied palate carries all of these, along with some darker red fruit, lots of spice, and juicy, but balancing, acidity. Still holding but may be best to drink up in the next 12 months or so.

From 75cl, exquisite cork. Blind I would have guessed mature Russian River PN... this bottle was delicious, but near the end of its drinking window. Dark cherry fruit, none of the irritations recorded for my previous bottle. Drink up. 89P

From 75cl, perfect cork, opened but not decanted 2 hours. Stewed plum jam fruit, with a bit of cinnamon, too much sugar and hot 14,5 alc. The finish tastes of Coca-Cola. Perhaps a dud bottle? 1 more to go. 85P

This Sonoma County appellation reminds me of a very good village level Gevrey. Cherries, spice, and florals. Very pretty.

With family and friends at Saul's in Berkeley (Rosh Hashana dinner). Ruby in color. Red roses and dark berries on the nose. In the mouth lush dark cherries and red raspberries. Velvety smooth, little tannin with some acidity. Very fine finish. I was in the minority, but this was my favorite wine of the evening.

From 75cl, perfect cork, P+P, which was definitely a mistake. I should read my own TNs. Next time this gets a proper decant, and not just because of the wedge of sediment at the bottom of the bottle. Sweet, fat and monolithic - the bright acid balance only showed up right at the end. Unfair to rate this under these circumstances.

Only had a small pour but I enjoyed this. Soft, light spices, red fruited. Nicely restrained.

Really nice, has an Oregonian Pinot profile, with a bit more oomph, showing robust plum and black cherry fruit wrapped up in a velvet, oak cloak and a savory finish.

Do decant this wine 30 minutes to an hour. Then enjoy the smooth , polished treat it is.

Decanted and let warm for about 90 minutes based on previous notes. Nice dark color. Great dark cherry with some tartness. Went great with salmon, my favorite pairing for Pinot. Nice finish. Very nice bottle.

From 75cl, perfect cork. Decanted 30 minutes, best after 2 hours, at room temperature. Initially just sweet and rather closed at cellar temperature, this enormous bright-cherry/inky-fruited PN blossomed after about 1 hour in the decanter. The final drops were the best (vibrant, zingy acidity, incredible juiciness) so I'd give this easily another 3-4 years. If opening now, decant and allow sufficient time for it to open. 91P

Beautiful fruity down to earth nose, just love it. Little flat and uneventful at first taste. But finishes so deeply. Bouquets of flowers and fruits and just the perfect amount of tannin's, complexities swirl around together nicely. For the price, very pleased.

Deep red, clear. Light nose of strawberry, vanilla, blueberry. High acidity and medium tannin. Lots of juicy fruit, a nice sourness, a bit of meat, spice. Long finish. Not terribly deep on the palate, but refined and easy going for a non-appellation wine.

Scherrer Chardonnay and Pinot Noir (Scherrer Winery) : P+P from 75cl at winery. Still closed,, this has wonderful dark fruit in good balance with bright acidity. 14,5% alc. well carried. Drink 2016-2020 (if I can keep my hands off it that long). 91P
