Bruno Lorenzon Montagny 1er Cru Le Mont Laurent Blanc

White flowers, sappy yellow fruits and smoky mineral. Rich yet contained. Good transparency and acid drive. Layered, silky, balanced and long. Lovely wine.

Quite an impressive showing for the 2023 Montagny 1er Cru Le Mont Laurent Blanc. The nose showed a full range--and in a quite aromatic fashion, might I add--of orchard fruit and the faintest notes of vanilla and oyster shell. On the palate, the wine flows across delicately, medium to full-bodied, exhibiting ample acidity, more orchard fruit (though, more pronounced Meyer Lemon), and a creamy undertow that is irresistable. A reserved nose for now of white flowers and yellow citrus. Very direct in the mouth, with excellent focus. There’s good mineral tension and beautiful natural acidity. It is all here with this wine and it will be fun to watch this unfurl over the next few years.
