Golden yellow in glass. Drank over the course of two nights. Vanilla, oak, pineapple and minerality. Medium acid. Could feel the heat on day 1. Overall complex, very good wine.

For good or bad, this is an Oregon chardonnay that screams California. It's clean and well made... But it lacks fruit and is very buttery. I'm not a fan of the oak profile, it's butter and vanilla while being a bit planky.

Chief's Birthday (Pietro's NYC) : I served this blind to others. Best guess was Meursault. Light colored and bodied. Very tasty and well-knit citrus, nut and flint flavors and a pleasant waxiness. Nice with shrimp and baked clams.

Controversial. Some comments: "Undrinkable." "My cheeks hurt from smelling it." Nose of petrol and corn flakes was pretty darned unusual but I actually kind of liked it for being different. Didn't have much company, though.

Served room temperature, nice medium gold. Pear, ripe apple, spice, toast, nicely balanced and pleasant to drink without breaking the bank.
