Domaine Vocoret et Fils Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos

Quite nice and a surprise, as I'd never had this producer before. Citrus and mineral nose. Well balanced middle, and enough acidity. Nice finish. This is NOT the dry austere type chablis with bracing acidity.

Fantastic bottle of Chablis. Took a bit of time to open up and needed to be a bit on the warmer side (60+ degrees) to show its best. But beautiful. Stony, green apple, white peach, laden with minerals. Zesty, laser-like precision on the palate. Piquant acidity that just makes the mouth water on the finish. Killer. A-/A

A bit more unctuous style, but braced with that lovely Chablis salinity, minerality and roasted hazelnut character.

A Chablis producer I continue to be very impressed with. Drinking great on a pop and pour. Nice roundness and sweetness to the fruit here. Excellent balance and minerality. Grand cru presence for sure although probably not easy to place in Chablis blind. Great lunch wine with sushi.
