The 09 Meo Richebourg was aerated for 4 hour before serving. It had a deep and explosive nose full of dark fruit, blueberries, Vosne spice, caramel, coffee beans and perfume. On the palate, it showed a multi-faceted palate that was so deep and rich, yet it also gradually evolved into a pure and linear beauty. It was tremendously complex and fun to enjoy throughout the dinner.

Extremely good, layers of layers of perfume, and extremely consistent. Had it twice.

Had a bottle at Lazy Bear with colleagues. $2950/blt. Somm double-decanted and the wine was immediately open for business. HUGELY fragrant. Likely the best Pinot I've ever had. Finish went on for nearly two minutes. Faded after 2.5 hours but still delicious. Unforgettable wine.

During Meo Riche evening this for me was marginal WOTN ahead of 05 probably because it was the only wine that I found some alluring spice that night. It felt surpisingly fresh and refreshingly light for an 09 but of course had heft as one would expect. A beautiful bottle that in 5-10 years time could be a true stunner. Drink 2030+

During Meo Riche evening. Yes, this was clearly too early, way too early. It was obvious we were in the presence of a great young wine but ultimately we were drinking nice primary fruit and no complexity emerged yet. Stash them away, the mouthfeel is great, it's harmonious and deep so it's all there. 2035++

A really fantastic wine that just needs a few hours of air before serving. Sexy spice, flowers, coffee beans, smoked red fruit and herbs on the nose and palate. This is a complete Richebourg that has weight, dimension and complexity. It should outperform many DRC Richebourg. Wow. 95 now with another 1-2 point upside when it is fully mature.

Maybe not the freshest bottle of this. Very secondary and while there was plenty of flavor, it wasn't all good. I'll chalk this one up to experience. Was expecting much more.

Ramonet Montrachet Lunch (Phoenix, AZ USA) : From restaurant list, and even with a decant and time in the glass this was so backward and inaccessible. One can sense the potential here, and in 20 years this will be epic. This should be buried deep in the cellar and forgotten about, it's a real shame to drink now.

In a Galaxy Far, Far Away - Richebourg ! (Vancouver, BC, Canada) : Dark ruby colour in this low acid year. Subtle red currant nose with mid palate grip in spades, morphing into a ripe, tight tayberry finish. Very approachable at this juncture and threatening to be scrumptiously delicious. Silky and irresistible in this flight of rarefied superstars, with great aging potential as these clusters mostly derived from Veroilles au Richebourg, yet overall seems more like a les Richebourg origin …

In a Galaxy Far, Far Away - Richebourg ! (Vancouver, BC, Canada) : Moderate ruby colour that was initially closed but with one hour in the glass and acrobatic glass movement -there were shades of bergamot and white alpine strawberries. Palate tight and full with a partridgeberry finish that lingered onto the back end for 60 seconds. This needs at least 10 years to mature into a big pants spicy Vosne Grand Cru to arm wrestle over.

Slow oxed for 5 hours before serving. The bouquet was irresistable with perfume, red currant, flowers, dates. Good sweetness on the palate but very balanced. Silky, lush and weightless. Superb. 96-97

The key to happiness is low expectations. Sadly, my expectations for this wine were very high. While very good, it does not live up to the standard for Meo Richebourg. Great balance and subtle space but just is missing the wow factor you would expect. Not sure age will fix this.

I am going to trash this wine because it is so disappointing. Nose had bright citrus, purple fruit and oak. Palate was so lean like a village wine. At max, I would pay 120usd. Given the provenance of this wine, i doubt it is a fake bottle. If I have to give a score tonight, taking price into considetation, it is 80 points. This is my impression in the first 30 mins. After 30 mins, the wine built up with …

Extremely ripe, round and sweet red fruit and spice on the nose and palate. Like candy today, but the structure and concentration indicate this will last for ever. Superb balance already when you finally make it to the long finish.

Meo-Camuzet Cellar Visit and Tasting (Vosne-Romanee - Burgundy) : Barrel tasting at the Domiane. Also recently racked so challenging to assess today, but this had silky textures running throughout the wine, great spice all the way and some hints at floral aromatics, all of which foreshadow an exceptional Richebourg in the making.
