Silky, hints of spice on the nose, long finish. It’s like drinking a spicey hug.

So lively and fresh. Decanted and ready almost immediately. This time used Riedel Vinum-chianti glass and felt it better the usual Bordeaux glass I use with these. There was a nice floral component in the back, nice focus as well. Very satisfying overall. 13.5%

Good wine to dring with our lasagna. Smell of small fruits, cherry, flower, earthy. Well balanced with medium acidity. A good example of the Sangiovese in a well assembled product.

Medium red color. Aromas of red cherries, earth and wood spices. Medium bodied fruit in the mouth with very good depth and length and well-integrated tannins. Nicely balanced and persistent on the palate. Though young, surprisingly integrated and delicious at this time.

The wine looks garnet colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like raisin, a bit of mushroom and light toast. It tastes like strawberry. The body is light. The wine has polished texture. The wine finishes relatively short and has low acidity. A fine example of Chianti Classico and the label is really an eye catcher.

The pop-n-pour on this was full of cranberry, and raspberry. Then perfume, oregano, game, and red currant. Red fruit, vanilla, balsamic, oregano, and pepper on the tongue. Soft tannins with medium plus acidity. Easy drinking but not as robust as most Riserva's but it does the job.

Possibly in a perfect spot for drinking, if you want the vibrancy of red fruits without the baby fat. 1/4 of the bottle left for next day, as good as day 1.

I keep opening this label whenever I need to have a glass or two, as I am confident it would last for 2-3 days without a problem. This bottle was more accessible that previous ones, a touch lighter in style and more vegetal and herbal nuances. Felt it closer to more traditional CC. A possible bottle variation here. Still solid choice and food friendly.

Pleasant enough, medium weight, slightly savoury; seems more like an ordinary Chianti Classico than a Riserva, but goes well with food and is drinkable now. May improve a bit over the next year or two.

Over the years this has always been a reliable Chianti Classico, though I've not tried it since the excellent 2013 bottling. Medium ruby / purple in the glass. The nose is very shy at this stage with just some cherry, balsamic and floral notes. The palate was a little more showy with considerable depth and concentration on display, along with menthol, licorice, earth and spice in addition to the kind of ripe dark fruits you'd expect from this part of …

80% Sangiovese with Merlot and Cabernet-Sauvignon. The 15-month ageing takes place in French oak casks & large Slavonian oak casks. High acid, sour cherries, earthy, oak, long finish. Wish I could have this with some cured meats.

Very pure with nice intensity. Some baby fat on the fruit side, but acidity keep things in place. Gave it 3+ hrs of decanting, Sangiovese 90%, Merlot 5%, Canaiolo 5%, no new oak, text book CC riserva, that needs at least 2y more in bottle to settle, promising.

Hazy note from several days ago. This was drinking well, with a mix of nice red fruits, good concentration, earthy notes, healthy acid, and nice tannins that give this ripe, rich wine structure (B+).

Dark ruby. Decanted for about 30mins. Dense and slightly warm nose with lots of dark fruits like dark cherry and plum, earthy and herbal notes, chocolate sweet spice like cinnnamon and quite intense cedar, which softens a bit after a while. Firm structure with medium acidity; lovely mid palate with both fruity and savoury elements. The finish was medium, savoury with a touch of dark chocolate. Quite youthful I would say; a solid CC which needs some time to integrate …

Dark ruby colour. Just after opening, the oak dominates both on the nose and the palate. 2 hours later, the oak feels much better integrated. The wine is really earthy, full of garrigue, dried herbs, plum, dried cherry, fig and cocoa. The palate is well balanced with excellent structure and matter. The fruit is slightly covered by the garrigue and herbs, but there is dried fruit (fig, cherry) on the finish. This wine seems mature and at peak. Better than …

“Sangiovese-Flight”, in August 2014 (non-blind), Wine 2. The wine was dark ruby in colour and offered a developed nose of dried cherry, coffee, some chocolate, leather, tobacco, mushroom and earthy notes. On the expressive palate the wine showed cherry, tobacco, tea and earthy notes, paired with high acidity, medium-plus tannin and very good length. The solid, dry, medium-bodied, well-structured, generously oaked wine was reasonably balanced. It was much better than the 2009, with better structure, concentration and complexity. Drink now …

Dark cherries, some leather, has a small sign of maturity. Acids pierce through too much. No mineral character found in our glasses. Nothing to write home about, but a very well made, little "beefier" Chianti with some personality. Wife: 88p. I cooked.

Well handled. As noted by others, leather and black cherries are prominent. I don't find a lot of minerality, myself, and I'd be surprised if I did in a mid-range sangiovese. There's fruit, balanced fruit, not minerals. First crack out of the bottle is most interesting, over the course of a few hours the wine reveals itself to be uncomplex. Ah well. (If I found this bottle for $20 -- which I might have, a sale -- I'd feel pretty …
