Dark ruby red with purple rim. Nose of black berries, leather, Wood and licuorice. Ful bodied with smoth tannins. Rather oily. Long finish of licorice. 12 months in barrique, long finish.

Rosso rubino cupo con riflessi violacei. Naso di piccoli frutti neri e liquirizia. In bocca è pieno con tannini morbidi e un bel finale lungo di liquirizia. 12 mesi in barrique e ancora una lunga vita davanti

Late May 2009: deep purple ink; intense cherry, vanilla and bitter almonds; sweet and fat on the palate; full body. Blockbuster style.

Alluring and concentrated nose. Cherry syrup, cherry pit, dried flowers, black tea, hints of sour dough. On the palate it is highly extracted and extremely dry. Sour cherry, underbush, a minerality that I liken to biting a cherry pit. Tannins are very chewy, acidity takes no prisoners. Fruit is completely overwhelmed, particularly on mid-palate. A real mouthful none the less, like an underripe nebbiolo. Interesting at best. Likely to improve with food though.
