Final, and with some distance, clearly the best bottle in my cellar(had previous bottles in September 2020 and December 2023). Wonderful mix of round palate, but still with more than a hint of fresh acidity, dark red fruit, a light spiciness, flowery feel and some tertiary influences. Just a nice level of complexity with a lot going on, but all fully integrated. Long, lingering finish. Medium bodied and not the most typical Syrah, but highly enjoyable in its own right. …

Excellent wine that went well with venison. Good fruit and very enjoyable.

Drinking superbly in its drinking window. Blackberry, ut with a hint of red fruits, delicate oak and lavender. First thing that hits you are the soft smooth tannins, then soft fruits, a little spice and long fruity finish. 90 points

A little lavender and violets, with red plums and blackberries, some earthiness and oak spice. Palate is gentle and smooth, with blackberries, blackcurrants and red currants. There's a lovely fresh acidity that balances those fruits. This is top notch stuff and so glad I've another 5 bottles left. Well worth seeking out to #giveanewwineago #burgundynick £28 @laywheeler on first release now its double that 89 points

Rich, appealing nose, very fruit forward, capturing a large spectrum of red fruit, all the way from strawberry to black currant. Would not take it for Syrah blind, missing the more animalistic traits. On the palate somewhat light, clearly more fruit than oak and tannins. Fairly high acidity, the fruit and the acidity presents a nice complexity that elevates the wine and makes it interesting, but also not here what I would normally expect from a North Rhone Syrah.

Spicy nose, loaded with freshly ground peppercorns and allspice. Medium-bodied and supple with flavors of blood orange and more fresh spices! So peppery. This is delicious, but too expensive for the quality level. That said, this is seamless and elegant and absolutely delicious right now. Drink over the next few years. 2017-2021. 89

Friskt etter minnet. Mye av alt. Rik, uten å være slapp, mye blomster, tobakk. Fin balanse og bra lengde.. Litt moderne stil med mindre fat og mere frukt. Verd penga. 90

This might become more friendly with age, but right now this is just not fun to drink. There is a decent amount of dark fruit and a fair amount of Syrah funk and savoriness, and both the acidity and tannin are good. I can't explain any better than to say there is a harshness to this wine that makes it something of an ordeal to drink, despite its good qualities, even with food.

Rich, powerful nose with lots of pepper, blackberries, somewhat meaty aromas and some violets. In mouth, medium bodied with fresh acidity and rich fruit. Notes of pepper, blackberries, blueberries, meat, bacon and violets. Long aftertaste. Just excellent!

Kirsch liqueur on the nose. Rich, a bit heavy, very concentrated, mineral, glossy with hard tannins. Not a big fan. 86-88

Fantastic nose: pepper, spices, red fruits, smoked bacon, pine, menthol. Very smooth moouthfeel with elegant tannins. Just a bit bitter aftertaste, but overall an excellent wine.
